The ideal dpi for xim
« on: 02:55 PM - 10/12/15 »
It is known that the xim favors highest dpi. But I and some part of the community have noticed that the highest dpi is not always the answer.
12k dpi of g502 is not in anyway the best experience for the xim.
my 3.6k dpi g400 feels alot better in these aspects :
(Crisp aim, does not feel floaty and smooth)
12k at the same senstivity of that to a 3.6k dpi feels wrongly faster (twitchy).
So, yeah 3600 dpi seems a good choice, what about other dpi values that actually make the xim make better use of the dpi?

imo the ideal DPI value is the lowest one that still keeps your XIM Sensitivity below 50 to not experience any interpolation at all

I need to use 55 sens with the G700. It's dpi is set to 5700. I thought it was in my head with the V2 translators I needed to up the sens. :\

A lot of my comp guys for COD swear on 1800 DPI, even with the G502.

I tried it out before and did notice it felt smoother but I went!back to 12k DPI because that's what I paid for and I'm used to it.

I'm curious to know what dpi users like better for the G502. I am currently using 12k, I would gladly change for a better one.

I dont think anyone has given a clear performance indicator as to what is better and why but more of its a personal pref.

From my own experience 12k is fine at 1000 poll but did feel jittery at 500.  I have never given anything else a try beside 5700 with my old G500 as i never felt the need to.

Isn't there a calculator somewhere to help change your sens with changing of the dpi?

If so i would be willing to try a higher sens with a lower dpi if it keeps the sens below 50

6400 DPI,  1000 HTZ.

On this one occasion i'd have to agree, 6400Dpi is pretty sweet IMHO.
Why don't we see if we can get you on to the Razer team Zowie, then you can change your name to RazerPlayer!

Its indirect proportional, so if you eg double the DPI you need to divide your XIM Sensitivity by 2 to have the same speed :)

XIM is different than PC.  On PC you can get away with a low DPI because of how games typically consume input.  With XIM the magic number seems to be around 1800.  Below 1800 DPI micro movements can be off.  It's questionable, and rather subjective, that anything higher than 1800 DPI offers any improvement.  So in short, the ideal DPI for XIM is anything at or above 1800 that feels right to you.

That's probably the most simplified answer to this question anyone could have hope for.

I always thought you should use the highest "Native DPI" your mouse supports was best :)

The closer your XIM sensitivity is to 1, the less interpolation the XIM has to do.
I just wanted to say that you are a phenomenal gamer. You make it look so easy and your gameplay has this commanding "tone" to it (i.e. not frantic -- more of a dominating calm :) ).

And them Hunter comes in with his big boots and confuses the situation again xD!
