I'm a big fan of the Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 and I only found out they had totally withdrawn from the gaming market a few months ago when setting out to buy a Sidewinder.

They must have withdrawn because they weren't liked, but I'm sure there must have been a small number of people that liked them?

maybe on PC but surely not within the XIM community, the mouse runs default on something like 400-800 dpi

Yes I'm talking about a while back, PC, pre-XIM days. I liked how big they were. I have small hands but they always felt so good despite their size.

the zowie mice and some steelseries mice still do use an intelli-like shape, maybe look into them :)

they had one of the best sensors ever, but it's only 400dpi.
I hated the 3.0 myself though cause of it's piss poor button quality, whenever I used it it would just randomly fire shots
Wheel mouse optical>3.0 imo
I liked the intelli 4.0, but that one had piss poor quality as well. the mouse2 button broke on every single one I had(and I had like 4 of them)
had the mx500 before the 4.0 and went back to 518 when they came out.
now I'm running  a g400s and will mostly likely never change.
this is the mouse I wish logitech would bring back with an updated sensor though.

my first optical mouse ever, loved it to bits. But the sensor is of such poor quality that it will randomly just go bonkers.
Maybe I'll try adding some new hardware to it at some point.

i loved my WMO 1.1a, and continued to buy more throughout the years. but they do run at 125hz, which is way too slow for me :(

the logitech g100s is fantastic. It's up there in usability along side zowie and others. It's super cheap too. It's my new WMO replacement :)
