Are there any other compatible nunchuck like devices similar to the PS Move?  (Read 2061 times)

I use my PS4/XB1 controller in my left hand and mouse in my right hand because the PS Move controller is a terrible shape; it's difficult to grip properly and hold on to.  Its the opposite of ergodynamic.

My setup is fine but its a little annoying having to hold the PS4/XB1 controller with one hand.  I'm wondering if anybody knows of any other compatible nunchuck style device with an analog stick and dual triggers, etc.

I see there is a competing product by a company called Tuact which seems like garbage compared to the XIM, but they do include this nice nunchuck thing.  I wouldn't suppose that is compatible with a XIM4?

I always wished they would support the Wii Remote which in turn would support the nunchuck. It's just so much more comfortable than the Nav.
Setup: XIM Apex, Titan Two, K780 keyboard, G Pro Wireless mouse, Logitech G440 mousepad, LucidSound LS30 headphones, Netduma router, Ubiquiti UniFi AP LR wireless access point

The "other" product nunchuck works fine, but I do use it with their mouse - not sure if that makes a difference. I tried the Sony and it was too uncomfortable for me. I have used the "other" one since it came out on the PS3 and it has held up fine.

with XIM Commander you can but the Wii one only has 3 buttons which wouldnt work at all with pretty much 99% of all mice

I have a Tuact FragnStein and a couple of SplitFish FragFX controllers purchased prior to my Xims. All of them feature a far crappier build quality and are much less ergonomic than the Nav. The buttons in particular are grade A junk. Stick with the Nav, it's by far the best of a bad bunch.

I recall seeing someone around here had rigged up a shell to house the Nav out of wire & rubber and attached it to the arm of a chair. Maybe it's in Tutorials or Projects and is probably worth a look if you're struggling with the Nav.

This is correct.  The nav feels like a tool and the tuact a toy.

How long have you used the nav?

You can mod them to make a bigger grip. I did that years ago, but after 3 months or so my hand stopped cramping up and now it feels fine to me.

So if you give the nav time it will feel absolutely great eventually, but at first it is brutal. I have long fingers and didn't think it would ever work.

That sucks to hear, but probably just saved me a bunch of money because the Splitfish was one I was thinking about trying.

I bought two of the PS Move/Nav controllers; I removed the casing from one and I was considering making a custom grip/casing for it but it would be a ton of work.  Wish I had access/skills required to 3D print something, otherwise I might have to make a mold out of styrofoam and then make the shell in fiberglass or something.

Use a grip from a shovel or something similar. Just google rubber grip/shovel grip.

+1, THIS STUFF IS AMAZING.

Buy some Sugru, put it on the back of your Nav, grip the Nav so that you see where you need to create your mold build-up. Let is dry and you now have the best Nav grip you would ever want. I LOVE MY NAV AND SUGRU GRIP COMBO.

Loki,
Got any pics of the final grip you formed? This thread has me curious to try it.
