in the last few weeks whenever i closed down XIM4 Manager after playing with XIM Commander i had to re-plug the XIM4 or the Transfer Cable to get a working connection again or else my PC wouldnt find the XIM4
now since a few days i cannot even get a working connection on first try and have to re-plug the XIM4/Transfer Cable right away to get a connection

and since today i cannot get a connection at all, continuously spinning on XIM4 Manager regardless of Transfer Cable or XIM4 re-plugs, reinstalling its drivers (both XIM4 and Transfer Cable), different ports, restart XIM4, console restart ...

info worthy:
- XIM4 works perfectly
- Transfer Cable works perfectly for transfering files between two computers

no nothing has changed, thats the strange thing
no major windows updates, no changes to the wiring or XIM4 setup

XIM4 Manager just constantly spins without any connection error coming up
when clicking a secont time into the XIM4 Manager window the software crashes
the Manager recognizes the Belkin Cable as without the cable the "no transfer cable detected [1]" message comes uo

is there a certain way the Belkin Cable needs to be configured? (eg source or target pc)
i mean i never had to in the past, was plug and play until pretty much today :/

No, it should just work (especially if nothing changed).

Are you positive that your transfer cable is fully working?

I'm going to test this today with my transfer cable... I've been using a hub for the past several months so I'll switch it back and report.

yes it is, i can transfer data easily from one to another PC
also the popup uppon plugin, the device manager settings and everything else is the same
lights on the cable work as intended too, very very weird

maybe ill try a system setback to an earlier date to see if its windows related

Or delete the transfer cable driver from Device Manager and let it reinstall?

I've tested my transfer cable and mine is working fine.

That's the one I'm using on Windows 8.1.

Are you using latest beta fw/manager? That issue went away for me when I updated to the latest beta. Just my 2 cents.

yes i do

wice told me its the same with one of his cables, transfering between pcs works but no success with the XIM
he had to order the same cable again and it worked, so it seems like my cable is faulty now after the years of useage

did the same now, new cable is on the way
lets see if it works again then :)

i forgot to respond

so the new cable fixes the issue, it really seems like the old cable is broken or anything despite doing its job as a transfer cable between PCs
also im can use the Windows 8 belkin cable without issues on Windows 7
(not the Windows 8.1 belkin, i mean model F4U060CW)
