Monitor vs TV
« on: 09:34 PM - 08/26/15 »
hey guys!

Wanted to hear from anybody that has migrated from a large screen TV to a desktop monitor and noticed a difference.

I currently use a 52" Samsung Plasma to game on and I experience sway and a little lag when acquiring targets. I am curious if I swapped to
My BenQ monitor, would I see a change in the delay and sway?

I may be reaching here for a fix, but thought I would ask.

Thanks

I have a 51 inch Samsung plasma as well.  While single player and such are fine, even pc mode FPS isn't really optimal.

I now use the BenQ xl2420z and it's amazing for input lag/motion blur.

Spiicy, thanks for the input. I think I'll change my setup to include my BenQ for multiplayer instances and just leave alll other gameplay on my TV.

Yee it does helps alot, using a monitor instead of a TV - the lower input lag, the better. Been playin on on my tv for 2 years, switched to a monitor n i never felt that great - its just way better, generally & overall. As you can tell that many pros used it, for competitive at a professional level.

I just took my fw900 crt and omfg . I went from a Samsung led 2 ms monitor to the crt and it's crazy how much nicer it feels . So [email protected] smooth . I never thought it would make a difference from a 2 ms monitor. Technology has gone backwards I swear

I swear the film 'Idiocracy' is probably the most relevant films of our times. I mean they were using Gatorade to water the crops... I couldn't think of anything that could surpass that in stupidity...

I moved from a 55inch Panasonic plasma to a 27 inch asus about 3 months ago. I love every second of it. I'll never go back to a tv for gaming

I play using a 1080p, 32" Bravia on desktop, model KDL32W700B. That extra 5 inches over a decent-sized 27" monitor makes a huge difference.

Display lag is roughly 14ms, which is close enough to a gaming monitor for the trade-off of the larger screen, DD 5.1 pass-through to TOSlink, USB TV recording, DLNA media client and other smart TV goodies.

Sony does carry some of the most reduced input lag sets around too so not surprised =P.

FPS/competitive, time sensitive gaming  = monitor

Single player, 3rd person, and etc. = as big as possible for immersion lol

This is old but it's mostly the same set-up

There are many benefits to playing on a monitor.

Another being, your eyes don't have to fdo as much work looking around all the time on smaller monitors compared to playing on big screen TVs.

Unless you're one of these 27" monitor people, then it's probably worse [emoji342]
That "natural curve" you [roads] are talking about was me taking a wild guess what the game was doing (which was completely wrong of course).

😂😂😭
