Sometimes during power on the lights would go from red to blue instead of red, green and then blue.  Have to unplug and replug.  I've had this issue for over 7 months.

When you don't see the full set of lights, are you unable to connect via Bluetooth?

Yeah.  It would give me the "connect failure, socket might be closed or timeout" something like that error.

Then, if you restart your XIM4 and it does show the cyan-green init light it connects every time?

Which firmware version are you running?

I'm using the latest release candidate and manager.

Yes, I'm able to connects to it using my phone every time as long as the cyan-green light is shown during power on.  I think 3 out of 10 times it doesn't show the light.

When it does work you are able to use Manager wirelessly for long periods of time without any issue at all?

Are you using the cable that was included with XIM4 between XIM and console or are you using a hub, switch, or extension cable?

Yeah, I use a USB switch and a 3 feet extension cable.

Yeah, I'm able to connect anytime even hours after the power on.

Good point mist. Does this happen when you only use the braided cable that came with your XIM4?

I have tried the with the braided cable and so far have not seen the problem.  So the extension cable and USB switch may cause XIM4 to not boot up properly?

Yes, we list the use of extensions as not supported on our hardware list because of issues like this. What's happening is you are getting a drop of voltage between your console and XIM4 that's too great that's causing stability issues with the Bluetooth radio.

My Xim's Bluetooth used to bomb when my Razer Ouroboros mouse connected wirelessly. When connected wired, the mouse wouldn't work at all and would send the Xim into a reboot cycle.

That was until I added a powered USB hub between the mouse and the Xim. Since then, Bluetooth will reliably fire up on the Xim.

Also, the USB switch may be to blame by bleeding current. Add m0ar power!

Long story short - bang a USB hub to the mix to add more juice to your devices. Worked for me. Predictable and replicable results.
