G502 sucks.

I have boxes of the G500/s since they are impossible to find.

I have boxes of the nav since it is no longer made.

Once I can't access these peripherals anymore I will quit playing.

I thought your mouse search was over after you experienced the FK? Still switching around constantly? No bueno bruh.

Have to agree with sbc2k1. I didn't like the G502 at all and have stockpiled a few G500s' just in case. Easily my favorite mouse.

Being a lefty restricts the gear I can use. There are no decent left-handed mice (both the Razer Lefty DeathAdder and Lefty Naga are clunky), so I tend to favour ambi gear.

XIM Stuff...

Mouse: Razer Ouroboros
Keyboard: Z-Board Fang
Pad: SteelSeries 4HD
Hax: Titan One
Foot Pedal: Stinkyboard
USB Hub: Roccat Apuri. The Ouroboros draws too much power for the Xim4. Doubles up as a mouse bungee.
USB Switch: IOGear 4x4 to swap Xim4 between PS3, PS4, 360 and XB1. Doubles up as Game Save backup to 2 x USB sticks. Also shares Astro A50 USB cable.

Other Stuff...

Display: 32" Bravia (KDL32W700B) for desktop, or 52" Bravia for couch via HDMI splitter. PS4 occasionally streamed to a 70" Bravia in another room via PSTV, or to a PS Vita.
Audio: Creative X7 + Fidelio X2 headphones / Logitech Z5500 5.1 speakers. Astro A50s if I need to chat.
Glorified HDMI Switch: Yamaha RX-S600 receiver.
Video Capture: Elgato Game Capture HD via HDMI splitter, fed to 2013 iMac 27" next to the 32" Bravia.
HDCP Stripper: ViewHD VHD-1x2MN3D to capture PS3 video via HDMI on Elgato.
Interwebs: 120Mbit D / 2.5 Mbit U cable. Avg 10-20ms ping to game servers. Up is throttled by ISP...asshats.
Router: NetDuma R1. Bloody great for managing lag.
Chair: Herman Miller Aeron. It's like a cloud for your arse. Awesome for bad backs.

There's a few niggling issues to resolve, thanks largely to the splitters and switches. But overall, I'm pretty near the end-game for my ideal setup.

+1 for this.

I have one at work and was over the moon when I managed to nab one at a good price for at home. Forget everything else I have in the set up this is my favourite bit of kit lol.

A lot of people like the g500s but its proven to have a large amount of lag and input..its also a lazer mouse...is it the shape and button layout that you like?

  • G400

G502 [heavy and a @#$% with cloth]
Fk1 [doesn't feel as comfortable as the g400]
a genius keyboard
============================
to the finalmouse users please don't use it or buy it again..
why ? because of the following :
500hz cap on the sensor
generic switches which aren't even omron
the marketing bs of the pro players adapting the mouse has already been over
low quality (alot of people reporting mouse dies after a period of 1 month or 2)
overpriced as hell...
tbh this mouse makes me furious as hell

Button location is why it's the best for me (thumb buttons and dpi buttons are perfect). I can press every button without moving my fingers/repositioning.  You can always feel what button your hand is on and you can't hit buttons on accident. I rush hard so I need to be able to make 'panic reactions'. the  Lag was fixed on an update about a year ago. On the right surface I prefer lazer to optical.

The 502 had one of the slowest layouts I have felt and was an accidental click monster. Your hands don't actually rest on the two thumb buttons, they rest bellow and on the single front button that is constantly being accidentally clicked by my long fingers. The g500 your thumb rests on all 3 thumb buttons and can't be clicked accidentally.

The dpi keys were not easily accessible and hard to distinguish in comparison.

Meh. I'm rambling.

Thats good point its really a matter of how comfortable and natural the mouse feel for you. The reason why i like the g502 is that bg thumb button it comes in handy for me.  The only issue i have is the weight somedays it feels lighter sometimes heavier on targets.

I have wish it was possible to strip the insode of the mouse and put it on another mouse shell

That thumb button was my enemy. I can see why some people like it, I had high hopes for it. I just could never stop pressing it.

I would enjoy the g502 sensor in the g500.  I wish I was better with electronics all my mod attempts fail.
