XIM Edge Windows 10 support
« on: 06:05 AM - 06/03/15 »
I tried the XIM Edge on Windows 10 Technical Preview...I could not get it to work.  Will the XIM Edge be supported on Windows 10?

Thanks.

It doesn't work? You mean the app doesn't work or XIM4 doesn't connect to the app?

He's talking about the XIM Edge and it's manager not been able to connect to the device, I'm pretty sure windows 8.1 had the same issue and required a .reg file to fix.
I just wanted to say that you are a phenomenal gamer. You make it look so easy and your gameplay has this commanding "tone" to it (i.e. not frantic -- more of a dominating calm :) ).

Exactly, the manager and the XIM Edge will not connect.  I tried the reg fix in Windows 10 but it said the registry entry does not exist.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you hear the USB chime when you plug it in?

I actually get the blue light, but it will not connect when I select the connect button using the XIM Manager software.

Ok, so this same exact setup worked fine on Windows 8.1?

Yes, this worked in Windows 8.1 after I applied the registry patch.
Just an FYI, it is acting the same as it did in Windows 8.1 before the registry patch was applied.  It turns blue color, but when you select Connect to XIM, the manager hangs.

Ok, thanks. We will look for an equivalent registry key in Windows 10. Unfortunately, this is the only option as we can't modify the bootloader (where the fix would need to be made).

No worries...I am just hoping it works in Windows 10.  I can also test a fix for you if needed.

basically you will need to find the need VID
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB\
Once here there is something like VID_2387^&PID_0002

Then change the following four DWORDs 1 -> 0 if not already 0.

1. AllowIdleIrpInD3
2. DeviceSelectiveSuspended
3, EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled
4. SelectiveSuspendEnabled

I don't have my XIM Edge or Windows 10 currently to find this for you.

Yes that works.  Thanks for the help.  Do you want me to upload anything to you so others can have the fix as well?
