Hello ... this is Frasier from Germany. I got my XIM just 2 days ago and it was a god sent that I found this thread. My special thanks goes to RML. Without your postings I would still be stuck in my very first setup steps and had no idea how to make this thing work! After just 2 days and a few hours in this thread I have at least an understanding of how things come together ... configure my mouse with LGS and map it in the XIM-manager. But I still have some questions left since I am using a keyboard and mounse setup and have to make some adjustments to your configs. One thing I did not figure out by reading this thread is the following: there are several configs for different scenarios, like "hip", "ads", "sparrow", "running", etc. To activate these configs - as I understand it - you have to asign a button to each config and press it while playing. Since I can not asign a button for the standard config (hip), how I do get back to this after I choose lets say ADS by pressing the asigned button??? I could press still another button to go to "sparrow", but I have no idea how to get back to "hip"? Everything else I figured out and while I still have to find the best key layout for my needs (where to put the "super" or my "melee"-attack, your setup is a great starting point and enabled me to start playing with keyboard and mouse, which I have never done before  ;) So I would really appreciate, if you can find the time and answer my question in the near future. Thanks again for your great support. Sending a big HELLO from Germany  :) Best, Frasier

Hey Frasier0303, Welcome to the community!

You have tow options when activating sub configs, such as ADS, Sparrow, etc. You have "Hold and Toggle" behaviors. If you're using Hold, then it simply reverts back to hip when you release the button. If you're using toggle then you'll need to press the button once to activate the sub config, then press it again to de-activate the sub config and put you back to hip. There are also the config de-activation keys you can use while using toggle mode. These allow you to de-activate a subconfig for things like Reloading, jumping, firing, etc.

Hi RML,
thank you for your swift response, very much appreciated here! One other question is lingering in my mind. When it comes to the ADS config. Is it recommended to set the activation key on the same key on the mouse as the key to ADS (the actual aiming)? When I put it on "hold" then it should fall back to HIP once I release the ADS-key, right? Or do I miss here something? I am just wondering what the best setting would be for me. I play PvP most of the times, so I am happy with hip and ads on most of the times. Still have to figure out how "running" fits my playing style. Best, Frasier

Yes, it is imperative that you assign the button you press for ADS to ADS activation. If you do not then you won't be activating that config when pressing the button, you'll never leave the Hip config. You can tell when a config is activated by the color flash on the XIM4. Typically Hip is Yellow and ADS is Green. So when you press the ADS button you should see the XIM4 flash Green for a sec. When you let go of the button you should see XIM4 flash Yellow.

Hold behavior is the default setup for ADS. So that's how it should work out of the box unless you chg. ADS to toggle mode. Some PC players like to toggle ADS, I personally don't, but it's all personal preference and totally up to you and what you're used to.

Has anyone done the shadestep script that is working right? I can't seem to get the timing right. If so can you PM the script to me?

This is absoulutley amazing. Just getting back into using my XIM4 again and noticed this setup. Taking me a while to figure some things out but as far as I can tell things are going great at the moment but have a few questions.

I noticed in your Logitech video at the end of your first post that you are set to 4000 DPI instead of the full 12000, any reason for this?

Also would it be best to use this on max in game sensitivity (10)?

When you use your sparrow you use the scroll wheel left to activate and always use scroll wheel right on the G502 to exit the sparrow and go back to HIP profile?

And one last thing, how to secondary profiles work? Like secondary HIP profile with different buttons?

Thanks.

- I use 4000 DPI for BO3, I haven't played Destiny in months Lol ... However, I did it because STv2 feels too jittery to me at 12000 dpi. I haven't tested it with Destiny yet. Although I preferred 8000 to 12000 with destiny on STv1, so ... I'm thinking I would probably go with 4000 on Destiny as well.

- Yes, always use max in game sensitivity because that's how the ST is trained.

- Yes I use scroll left to macro in the sparrow. However, I created this guide before a few new features were added to XIM4. One of those new features is Deactivation keys. So you no longer need a macro for exiting the sparrow, all you need to do is assign the jump button as a deactivation key for the Sparrow sub config. Then, always use jump to get off the sparrow and it will automatically deactivate the sparrow config and put you back into Hip.

- Secondary profiles work by assigning an activation key to them. Then when that button is pushed you activate your sub config. Subs are used for many things, such as: Vehicles, Sprinting, Kill streaks, ADS (yes ADS is a sub config), menu navigation, etc.

So the first page aint updated for v2?  Im gonna try out it with 4000 instead for 8000 that im using now. Also nice that there is a button free now with the deactive keys. U should update this master piece mate.

^ Actually, looking back at it now, I already updated the OP with how to use the deactivation key for Sparrow. I just never updated the pics for my mouse and nav assignments (it's just too much work for a game I haven't played in months, hell I might not even understand it myself anymore, haha ..).

I noticed on my XIM4 that when I switch configs (by holding an activation key for example) the lights on the XIM change just for a second and jump back to the standard color. Does this mean, the config does not stay active even if I hold the activation key (I do not have it on "Toggle")? I feel unsecure about this and hopefully someone can answer my question ... thank you, Frasier

^ That's normal.

For example, let's say your Destiny Config (the entire thing, Hip, ADS, etc. etc.), your base color is red. That's what you're going to see 99% of the time. The only time it will chg is when you activate a sub config such as ADS. So you activate ADS, it should briefly flash green to acknowledge activation, then it will go back to default, Red. Then when you let off your ADS button it should briefly flash Yellow, to acknowledge Hip activation, before defaulting back to Red.

Man you really should watch the video's Obs has posted up on XIM4 setup, it's worthy info. ;)

This whole Destiny setup is like jumping straight into XIM4 Hardcore mode. It's important to understand the basics first.

That being said, I'm always willing to help when I can. But you can speed up your learning curve significantly by watching the video's he's put up and then read through my Advanced Settings link in my signature.  ;)

No questions are stupid. If people here can help, they will. It just really helps when people do a search or research first and if they still don't understand, ask away.

Hey so I just got my XIM4 today and I really want the setup for Destiny to be as simple as possible. When I pasted your codes for each sub, the ballistics were all way off compared to what you've shown in the pictures. I feel like I read over everything but I'm sure I definitely missed something. I'd love to get setup and on the right track and nice guide btw!

Bro. Thank you so much. This config has helped my game IMMENSELY. I did some minor tweaks to my ADS setting to suit my tastes but this config was a fantastic base. Everything is so snappy and responsive. It's incredible. It definitely stepped my game up. Thanks! Kudos! Hopefully you can make a good one for the Division now  :) :)
