Also, my mouse is set at a maximum DPI of 16,000. How should I adjust? Just play with the sensitivities and go from there? Thanks!
From what I gather (from RML's parameters/guidelines) and if you're like me, you're going to need to adjust your expectations on mouse sensitivity for Destiny. It's not going to be Quake or CoD type of twitch movement, where you can easily turn 180 degrees. From a HIP standpoint, you should be able to move faster around the screen than what you could do with a controller, but then you get much more refined (read: slower/easier to control) movement while ADSing. So you'll want to get your reticle close to target, then make slight adjustments once you're locked in. If you have too much mouse speed or sensitivity, you'll have jittery controls, and your reticle will jump all over the place.
I've had my XIM4 for less than a week, so I'm still refining my setup and my playstyle is still adapting, so at this point I'm probably still a better player on a controller, but I can see the benefit to a m+k setup which hopefully I'll be a little better at by the time Iron Banner rolls around next time.
Speaking of keyboards, are there any G13 users out there? What key mapping are you guys using? I initially mapped movements to the equivalent of WASD (4,10,11,12), with 'X' at E (5), 'Y' at Q (3), and 'B' at C (18).
The thumbstick is also mapped to the left stick for movement, but I'll have to train myself to get used to using it for movement.
I find it challenging (and somewhat frustrating) to get used to a new key map, which often results in unnecessary deaths in game, so if I can minimize the number of setups I try, that should help minimize workload on my hand/brain coordination.
