I attempted that but I think I overwhelmed my self. I'll have to give it another shot.

Make sure you check out the link "Advanced Settings" in my signature. There's Alot of good info there that will help you understand XIM better.

Thanks for all the work in this post, it's really helped me get up to speed on the XIM and all the customization and settings needed to get a 'good' feel for my setup.  RML, I'm glad you've taken the initiative to write out all that's necessary to get things working, and for sticking with the thread (even when you're not playing Destiny) to help new users out.

I registered my account to say thanks, and may well contribute more in the future as I learn more about what settings I like and dislike with the XIM.

Now, to update the firmware and manager when I get home!

[DESTINY PLAYERS]

Is it worth to upgrade from 20141114 to 20151120 firmware ?

I only play destiny on my Xim4 (ps4) and have no problems so far. I was just wondering if will it improve my gaming experience, remain the same for destiny or even make it worse.

I saw one member saying that he downgraded because he had some issues for aiming headshots on DESTINY with the new smart translator.
Does anyone else experience some problems or benefits ?

Thanks a lot!

Just setting up my xim for the first time for destiny/Xbox one. I was curious what your thoughts are on binding sprint and move forward to the "W" key. Will this cause issues while ADS and moving forward or any other issues I am not thinking about?

Also, my mouse is set at a maximum DPI of 16,000. How should I adjust? Just play with the sensitivities and go from there? Thanks!

W for sprint would pull you out of ADS every time you tried to move forward while aiming.

The sensitivities will need to be tweaked to your personal liking. I would play around with a ball park you think you might like, play a little and then adjust accordingly

From what I gather (from RML's parameters/guidelines) and if you're like me, you're going to need to adjust your expectations on mouse sensitivity for Destiny. It's not going to be Quake or CoD type of twitch movement, where you can easily turn 180 degrees.  From a HIP standpoint, you should be able to move faster around the screen than what you could do with a controller, but then you get much more refined (read: slower/easier to control) movement while ADSing.  So you'll want to get your reticle close to target, then make slight adjustments once you're locked in.  If you have too much mouse speed or sensitivity, you'll have jittery controls, and your reticle will jump all over the place.

I've had my XIM4 for less than a week, so I'm still refining my setup and my playstyle is still adapting, so at this point I'm probably still a better player on a controller, but I can see the benefit to a m+k setup which hopefully I'll be a little better at by the time Iron Banner rolls around next time.

Speaking of keyboards, are there any G13 users out there?  What key mapping are you guys using?  I initially mapped movements to the equivalent of WASD (4,10,11,12), with 'X' at E (5), 'Y' at Q (3), and 'B' at C (18).

The thumbstick is also mapped to the left stick for movement, but I'll have to train myself to get used to using it for movement.

I find it challenging (and somewhat frustrating) to get used to a new key map, which often results in unnecessary deaths in game, so if I can minimize the number of setups I try, that should help minimize workload on my hand/brain coordination. :)

I read somewhere in this topic:
http://xim4.com/community/index.php?topic=43278.180

Where people were giving feedback on the new firmware.

By the way, are you playing destiny in the latest firmware?
Have you find any benefits on setup and gaming experience?

I am afraid of losing my setups for nothing better.

Thanks a lot!

Hello Leotigano,

Just curious, are you using this setup on 1114 manager, or are you using something else?

I did play a little Destiny with the latest firmware/manager and I didn't really feel a noticeable difference. Maybe just a little more jittery, hard to say TBH. One thing you DON'T want to do is use Steady Aim with Destiny. It makes Aim Assist ridiculously strong!

No I'm on the previous RC. I haven't done the update yet.

What!!?? Your still playing with a wired NAV?  :o

I appreciate you taking the time to register and comment in this thread. It is individuals like you that remind me why I took the time to do this in the first place. I look forward to your contributions in the future.  :)

Nah. I'm using the orbweaver. Is the NAV wireless now? I'm on 20150816.

Yes, it's wireless with 1120.

BTW, 0816 also utilizes STv2 so it's the same as 1120 from that stand point.
