the autoaim completely changing your sensitivity when near a target is a huge hassle in destiny, i'm trying to overcome that at the moment
thanks for the unique ballistics curve for ADS, i never would have thought to use that
on of these days i'll set up custom running and vehicle curves but i'm too lazy
.....also has anyone else noticed the xim4 acting badly since the house of wolves release? i occasionally lose control and my character will just spin in place, i have to completely reset the xim4 and re-plug my KBM to make it work
As far as the Aim assist goes, Yes, it's pretty severe at times within close quarters. It's pretty much like that with every game using aim assist, it's just that Destiny has higher then (what I would call) normal aim assist applied to this game. You can combat this more by adjusting my ADS curve. But it will make mid to long range aiming more difficult. If you increase my curve though and then add another config to the fire button it could help. For example, copy your ADS config but use no curve and a lower sensitivity and activate it with left click. This can help you stay on targets when using higher sensitivities while in ADS. It works by allowing you to aggressively follow the target and then slowing your aim when you fire. This method really only works for continuous fire though, so it's pretty much a No Go with snipers and hand cannons.
As far as the "acting badly" goes, I believe what you're experiencing is increased LAG. I've noticed it to lately. I believe the reason why is two fold.
- Possibly less player base
- More game modes, The player base is spread out all over the place so we're probably getting paired with other gamers that, maybe, wasn't the case a while back. The new DLC obviously would impact the player base we have to chose from, get my drift?

Ok, so that's my "acting badly" Lol..
After reading your response again, I believe your issue sounds like a possible wire short. I've never experienced this with XIM4. But back in the day of XIME I had that problem. Turned out to be the wire connecting my XIME to the console had a short. What was happening to me was the short would cause the XIM to lose communication for a split second which caused my NAV and mouse to drop out. So my character would just spin whatever direction I was heading when the communication dropped.
