Lag, can this be corrected?
« on: 05:52 AM - 12/10/09 »
Good day.
I've noticed a problem when i was looking over for the perfect settings.
When i move the mouse there is an big lag between my movement and the game movement.

Its not my settings, because i used alot of the settings already availible here.
And its not the game. I have my laptop infront of the tv screen. And when i move the mouse its is an instant reaction on my laptop but nearly 0.5 seconds on the screen.

Is there a patch for this? Or is it suppose to have lag when aiming, because of the system.
I use XP 32bit on an Acer 8930g with HD screen.

XIM1 or XIM2?

Wired or wireless mouse/keyboard?

If you're using wireless, well that's why.

If you're using XIM1, it's probably because you've got an XFPS with it.

It could be a number of things, like the response time on your tv.

I use the XIM2/XIM360 with wired G13 and a wired G8 mouse.
I used it on my laptop, I had Vista 32bit later i installed XP32 bit. No difrence.

The laprop;
Acer Aspire 8930G-654G32MN
Processor  : Intel Core 2 Duo - T6500
2100 MHz
4096 MB DDR3 2 x 2048 MB
320 GB (5400 RPM Serial ATA)
DVD+/-RW Dual Layer
18.4 inch WUXGA+ Full High Definition Dual Lamp CineCrystal TFT Breedbeeld
1920 x 1080 pixels
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS
512 MB

The tv;
Philips Lcd Televisie 32PFL8404H - 32inch - Full HD AMBILIGHT
32 inch (81 cm)
1920 x 1080 pixels
1080p,1080i,720p,576p,576i,480p,480i
3 ms
100 Hz

It should be no problem. Yet i have a big responce time. It really feels like i'm playing on the old XFPS.

what config/game are you using?
also did you set your in-game sensitivity according to the config/game
maybe try recalibrating your xim2

It isnt the config, I used everyting that has been posted here. Even made a few of my own.
One really was good, well besides the lag.
I only used it on MW2.

The lag is the only thing that i can't figure out. But by the sound of it it isnt normal.
I just got my pc out of the basement. I am installing everything now. Its XP so it will take some time to get all the service packs. Got a download speed of 100kb/s lol.
I will try it on my pc, maby its the laptop. It doesnt react like the specs give it away. Maby the problem is the laptop.
Will see.

But thanks peeps, now i know its not normal. I was afraid i spent to much on another XFPS lol.

Try a monitor. I have a 52" samsung lcd 1080p 120hz 4ms response time and I still have floating just like you. Monitor > tv. Hook up a good monitor just for S's and giggles.. I bet thats the floating your feeling.

There's a good link in the Bible/FAQ that will allow you to change the speed of your USB ports.  If you bump them up to 500 Hz, maybe it'll make a difference?

My laptop has some "lag" issues too.  I dont care, as I dont use it for the xim, but I thought telling you this may help you know your not alone.  I just wouldnt call it lag, as it just seems less percise.

Alrighty, problem solved.

It was my laptop that messed it up.
On my pc it worked smooth, with instant reaction. Used alittle to slow config, but just pump up the numbers and presto! :D

Thanks for your help guys.
So anyone interested in buying a laptop hahahahaha.

During the install on your laptop did the calibration complete successfully?

Well i try'd another thing. Put my Xbox on a monitor. The result is an actual pc experients.
On the same monitor i have the XIM program running.

I'm doing 30-5 K/D ratio in MW2
I use S1L3N7 D3A7H config, but then with the G9 on 3200DPI. The same config and it like i'm actualy playing on the pc.
Exept that the resolution is pretty bad.

I'm playing on 1080p but the monitor can only do 1680x1050. I need a 1920 to get nicer picture ofcourse.
But nothing is more fun than owning online  ;D Resolution or not  :D

Thanks for the product and the help.
You guys are awsome.

Oh... what monitor is exellent to use as a pc monitor and for the Xbox?
Now i have the SyncMaster 2031mw and it just is pretty bad. (me always going for the discount)
