[ACTIVE] No display from ps4 when I unplug xim4 from console

For some reason whenever I disconnect my xim4 from my ps4 the displays cuts off. I am using hdmi to dvi on my dell ultrasharp u2312hm. I have tried hdmi to another display and it works fine without the xim connected. This has only just started happening, for the past few months it has been working fine. Also when I start the ps4 without the xim connected I just get a fuzzy screen until I plug the xim in.

Wow I've never seen that one before. You are also saying your screen is distorted until you plug XIM4 in?

Yep. If I turn on my ps4 without my xim plugged in it looks like this - http://imgur.com/aQKK0i7

Once I plug the xim in it goes back to normal.

Sorry, I'm not sure. Since things are going wrong without your XIM4 plugged in it means its not XIM4-related (meaning its out of my area of expertise).

I'm a bit flummoxed too.

What happens if you plug a different USB device (e.g. a keyboard) into the same port on the PS4?

I'm wondering if there's some kind of short in the port itself, which gets unshorted when there's a connector inserted.
