Can someone record or write a tutorial explaining how to setup xim4 ,xim commander xbox one and pc? Because it is a confusing and complicated process.

I guess a final tutorial cant be done yet because the alpha XIMCommander software can be changed on any next update.

But here is my way how i get it work on PS4. There might not be more difference to Xbox One:

(When you didnt do it yet)

1. Download and flash the firmware 20141114 to your XIM 4 here:

2. Download and install the XIM 4 Manager 20141114 here:

3. Plug off the XIM 4 from your console or turn it off
4. Turn your PC on
3. Plug your Controller to the Port 3 of your XIM 4 device
4. Plug your USB Transfer Cable to your PC and Port 1 of your XIM 4 device
5. Mouse, Keyboard or joystick have to be plugged in to the PC
6. Plug the XIM 4 as usual to the console with the delivered cable
7. If not done turn your console on and press on PS4 PS button twice on logon with the XIM 4
8. Create a shortcut from the Manager that you have downloaded on step 2
9. Add "/commander" to the command line of the shortcut by right clicking on it and select "Proberty"
10. Click on "Apply" and then "Ok"
11. Start the manager shortcut and wait until the connection to the XIM 4 has been established.
12. Start the XIM4Commander and press your hotkey (Default: PrtSc button) to toggle into the capture mode

As i already said the tutorial can be changed anytime due the next updates.

I did all steps then I started xim manager but it wont connect to the xim 4. Do you know what I did wrong.

What type of transfer cable are you using?

It certainly looks the same.  They update the packaging, and thus the model#, every time windows is updated, even though they don't actually change the product, since it's a really simple device that needs no updating.

Did you do the step in the post above where you add /commander to the XIM4 Manager command line in the program shortcut?  That's the usual cause of not connecting.  If you're running Manager, which you need to be while XC is running, and it doesn't say "XIM4 Manager (Commander Mode)" in the Manager title bar, then you haven't set that up right.

Oh, and yes, the tutorial is on the to-do list, but as mentioned, there is way too much change likely to happen before Beta and thus time will not be spent on it at this time.

I do strongly recommend that, if you feel you are not up to doing a lot of self-service debugging and support, an Alpha Test phase may not be the most fun thing for you to participate in.  Alpha tests, especially in small companies and even smaller projects like this one, are typically quite bug-riddled and light on documentation.

Sorry for probably being stupid, but can someone clarify the points 8 & 9 as i really don't understand what we have to do here?

EDIT: Realised now what you need to do, if anyone else needs things spelt out like me here is how it should be!:
1: Right click properties of the XIM4 Manager shortcut
2: add this part to the end of 'Target:' box, ( /commander"), not the brackets but note the space at the start

Okay so I have followed the steps, xim manager is the latest and it does say commander mode on top. I keep getting communication size mismatch first then failure connecting to usb transfer cable (which works because I transferred some files) and its the recommended belkin easy transfer cable.

I shouldnt need to update to the latest (which has steady aim) do I?
