G700s vs G502?
« on: 01:57 PM - 01/10/15 »
Which one do you guys prefer? To be honest, I feel like the design of the G700s is a little bit bigger than the G502, is this true?

that's what i'm thinking. I was a @#$% and bought mouses (or mice idk which one is used for computers) that looked complicated and those ended up giving me an unfit grip. The G700s however, looks very comfortable. Can't wait to try it out.

Iv been using the g700s for a while now and it's great, only one thing I don't like is when I need too use it wired the wire is quite stiff, so it can be annoying especially when your needing too be quite precise. Other than that it's a great mouse.

I've not had a 700s, but did use the similar G700 for about 18 months and thought that was a great mouse.  Here's a thread for the G700s.

http://xim4.com/community/index.php?topic=27166.0

I remember some had issues with their bindings on the 700s, although that may have been resolved now.

I use the 502. IMHO, I dont think you'll find a better mouse than the 502 to use with XIM4, (until W11cE and roads go into full production  ;)) Lots of people here are using it without issue. It has an awesome sensor, I think it's been described as "flawless", by those who know about these things, but I don't, so don't quote me lol..

-12000 dpi, more the better for XIM.  although 12000 could be considered considered overkill
-Buttons are well placed for my weird hybrid palm/claw grip, especially the dpi shift button, I can panic knife better than Rambo on anphetamine  :)
-An additional 3.5 grams of weight to add if you prefer a heavier feel.  Do you even lift Bro?  :P
-Tuning program to optimise mouse performance on the pad you're using.
-3 onboard profiles
-Best of all, an adjustable blue light  :P
-Comfortable rubberised grips. Can get a bit sweaty tho.

Only negatives I can think of, and this is after a lot of hrs play.
-Cord is starting to frey where it catches edge of mouse pad.
-Skates are wearing a bit thin, but easily replaced.
-Logitech Gaming Software :( This is a step back compared to the old Setpoint imo.  So you wont be able to do some things we're not alowed to talk about here.  I don't think 700s, is compatible with Setpoint either, so that's a non issue.

700s is in no way a bad mouse, but the 502 is a better mouse, imo.

Hope it helps :)

I just got the g502 for christmas.  Used to have the g500.  Hands down, the 502 is the best gaming mouse I have ever used.  Tracks nice.  Not too heavy.  Only thing I do not like is that it looks like it was cobbled together by spare parts from the stealth fighter...

Used a G502 since August best mouse I've ever owned love the full 12000 dpi, butter smooth on a G440 hard pad, more than enough buttons ,metal scroll wheel is great never gets slippery or grimy unlike silicon coated wheels, highly recommended,oh yea I've extra lager hands fits like a glove.Any concern about the cord dragging is solved with a mouse bungy

The only problem I have with G502 is that it just doesn't fit my hand. The mouse is too small :(

size wise, the 502 is around the same size as the 500.  I have large hands and it doesn't bother me.

Hi sikpup, it's a bit off topic but is it worth to switch from a g500 in good state to a g502?
Did u notice any improvements in your aiming skills?

Regards.

I too found the g502 to be small in my hand but used some foam with one sided sticky and attached to side of mouse to make it more comfortable was even able to heat it a little and made it form to my fingers works like a charm

G502 if you don't mind wired.

G700s if you want wireless.

I have both, my G700 collects dust because I prefer the look, feel, sensor and button layout of the G502.
