OBsIV will you be putting out an app for the Xim4 on the Windows phone or Surface tablet platforms?.

Yes, for Windows Phone 8.1. But, not likely for Surface RT.

Isnt the surface RT just running windows 8?

It's running Windows 8 RT, which runs on hardware (including a rather-different CPU) designed for tablets, rather than PCs.  It looks and mostly works like regular Windows, but under the hood it's different.  Regular windows software will not run on RT, and in fact you cannot install any software outside of the windows store apps.

I assume the question he's asking is not whether it'll come out on RT (since it's a discontinued product anyway), but whether there will be a native app which would work with Win 8 tablets or Win 8 phones.

Regardless I doubt it...not even iOS is supported yet, and it literally has 10x the user base!

no reason to make a separate app for the latest surface tablet... it runs full windows 8 and all all future iterations of the surface and windows phone will probably run on windows ten which will have a common app store presumably... so might as well wait to develop an app for windows based devices until win 10 is out
