Help: GTA 5 settings
« on: 12:54 PM - 12/26/14 »
A little help would go a long way to getting my xim set for FPS mode on gta.

5600 dpi mouse.

What do I set all the Ingame sliders to? What is a good ads starting point? Mine moves fast and smooth then slows to a crawl randomly and it's game breaking.

Normally I would tell you to max everything in-game but Rockstar has updated the the setting options after we added support for this game. I would say use max third person and first person sensitivity, use max first person FoV, use the default acceleration value (this is new I believe), and use Assisted Free Aim. Note that the look mechanic changes between Free Aim and Assisted. Due to the poor look mechanic that GTAV has we support Assisted. Assisted Free Aim is the best option in my opinion.

Post patch the only difference between assisted and free aim is that assisted adds snap-to-target. While I think before free aim was actually free aim now free aim has a ton of aim-assist. Or maybe it's just more noticeable because of the improved aim mechanic.

Can you comment on which deadzone and acceleration settings he should be using post patch? I haven't had time to look at the game yet.

The default settings for acceleration and deadzone with maxed out sensitivity is probably the closest to how it was pre patch but I only gave it about five minutes of trying with a mouse before continuing playing with a gamepad.

I think the STs should be retrained with deadzone at 0 and acceleration at max.

Currently I have deadzone maxed out to get rid of the jittery feel.  Acceleration is at max also.

OK I checked. Currently you should be using deadzone 100% and acceleration 50%.

i wanted to ask, can we use the xim4 for third person camera in GTA5,or is it only FPS mode.

There are two sets of STs, one first person and one third person.

Has anyone succeeded in finding accetable settings? I find it very jittery, especially when aiming with sniper rifles.

I switched to using the Destiny ST for it... seems smoother for some reason. I'm at 12000dpi and hip:19 ADS:12 boost at 10 on both.  Flying is still pretty jerky feeling.

So does the First Person feel better? Unable to try it for a few days still.

Yes. It's no CoD look mechanic now but it's much improved.
