[RESOLVED] Wont pair, but still works...
« on: 10:26 PM - 08/08/14 »
non beta, wired to xbox 1, samsung galaxie s3

I have been using the xim for a few days now with no problems, even switching it between my xbox one and ps4.

I was playing titanfall tonight, left everything on and went and did a few other things for a couple hours id say. I noticed when I opened up my phone the manager had disconnected, I assumed i went out of range or something.

I come back in to play and the manager won't connect, so I clear my phone and went to blue tooth settings and unpaired it then tried to pair again and it says "unable to communicate with xim4". Then I restart my phone, turn off xbox, unplug everything from the xim, and start it all like I first got it, plug in kb/mouse/usb, plug into the xbox, it all powers up properly, red lights, rainbow, then slow strobe red, scan bluetooth, push the button, xim shows up...

still won't pair. but even after all that I can still used my mouse and keyboard in titanfall with what seems to be all the same settings.

There are some bugs that we are fixing related to Bluetooth that we are hoping to get out in a couple of days.

I'm wondering if the pairing got lost on the XIM-side. You'd have to factory restore to verify that.

The factory reset fixed the problem, I can now pair via bluetooth on my phone and the manager app connects.

It appears that it was a phone related bug. When I connected the xim to my pc, the manager loaded right up with the configs I had set from the app. I tried connecting again before I did the reset just to see if the pc manager loading up would have effected the mobile apps ability to load, it did not lol. So I did a factory reset, plugged it back into the console, uninstalled and reinstalled the phone app just in case and it all came back up.

To possibly prevent this I would suggest that everyone close the app and shut their system down if they won't be playing for a bit. Im not certain how long I had stepped away, at least an hour or so.

Its good to know the pc manager will work if my phone ever craps out, I play at my desk mostly anyway.

Excellent news.  I think OBs was right about the stale pairing info on the XIM.  Glad you tried it, enjoy your gaming!  :)

Ok, keep an eye on it. These random things should go away when we fix the Bluetooth bug we have.
