My XIM4 is displaying a solid white light when I try to connect it with XIM4 ManagerYour XIM4 has a version of firmware on it that isn't compatible with the latest version of XIM4 Manager in the app store. This is possible even with new XIM4s since we are constantly making fixes and adding new features which weren't available at the time when the XIM4 was manufactured. Please follow the instructions on how to upgrade your firmware:
http://community.xim.tech/index.php?topic=49093.0Why can't I get XIM4 to pair with my iOS device?iOS support requires a newer firmware that isn't shipped with new XIM4s at this time. Please look here for details:
http://xim.tech/iosI'm using an extension USB cable between my XIM4 and my console, will that cause issues? It is
not recommended that use extension cables between your XIM4 and console. Many extension cables are not within USB standards and will affect the performance of your XIM4. Please only use the USB cable that comes with your XIM4.
I followed the Instructional Videos and Guides but I can't get my XIM4 to pair/connect with my phone or PCAll known Bluetooth connection issues are fixed using our latest Beta (Release Candidate) firmware (linked above). Please follow the special "re-pairing" steps as outlined in the XIM4 Manager post for your platform (iOS, Android, or PC). Additional unique steps must be taken for iOS listed
here.
If you cannot pair or use your XIM4 wirelessly after these steps, please notify us in the
Support board on the XIM forum. Consider using
wired configuration (refer to the
Offline Wired Configuration topic in the
User Manual) until we can diagnose the issue.
I configured my XIM4 but my mouse and keyboard doesn't register when connected to my consoleIf you have configured your XIM4 using XIM4 Manager and you can see your mouse and keyboard input display in XIM4 Manager but nothing is happening in-game on your console, it's likely that your controller is communicating wirelessly to your console. This normally caused by a faulty USB cable between your XIM4 and controller.
For PS4, the included USB cable with the console is low quality is mainly the cause of this issue. Please try a different micro USB cable.
For Xbox One, if you tried a different USB cable and it is still happening, please check to see if your controller icon is showing up in Manager. If it is, and input still isn't being registered on the console, please hard reboot your Xbox One. You can do so by pressing and holding your Xbox One's power button until your console powers off.
My controller doesn't seem to be recognized or workingFor PS4 and PS3, make sure your controller if fully charged and off before using with your XIM4 and connect using a quality certified USB cable.
For Xbox One, if you are using an Xbox One controller with integrated audio jack or the Xbox One Elite controller, then, you'll need to upgrade your XIM4's firmware. Please see the "Beta" firmware link above.
For Xbox 360, a "play-and-charge" cable cannot be used.
I’m seeing a repeating sequence of red, green, and blue lights quickly over and over when I plug in XIM4 and it’s not working properlyXIM4 will verify your Configs at startup. If it detects corruption, it will halt and display this sequence. Corruption will occur if XIM4 loses power during a save of its Configs/Settings. Updates only last a few seconds and occur when you are saving Config changes.
You must
Restore Factory Defaults if you have corrupted Configs using the steps below.
I’m seeing "?" in XIM4 Manager whenever I plug my device (i.e. mouse/keyboard/joystick/controller) into XIM4 and the device doesn’t workIf XIM4 doesn’t recognize or understand the USB device you plugged in, it’ll inform you by displaying a '?' icon in XIM4 Manager. If this happens, make sure your devices are plugged into their preferred ports:
- USB Port 3: Controller
- USB Port 2: Keyboard/Joystick
- USB Port 1: Mouse
Please check the official
XIM4 Hardware Compatibility list for your device.
I’m seeing lightning bolts in XIM4 Manager whenever I plug my device (i.e. mouse/keyboard/joystick/controller) into XIM4 and the device doesn’t workIf one or more of the peripherals plugged into your XIM4 is drawing too much power and your XIM4 has shut down all it's USB ports to protect itself from damage. Reduce the amount of power required to operate your devices:
- Ensure your rechargeable devices are fully charged (controller, mouse, etc.).
- Disable rumble on your controller if it is still active.
- Turn off extra lights on your devices.
When I plug in my XIM4 into my console, nothing is turning on- Try a different mini-USB cable to connect your XIM4 to your console.
- Try a different USB port on your console.
I’m feeling a delay/lag between when I move my mouse and when the aiming reticule moves on the screenXIM4 is designed for minimum latency that is unperceivable. Properly setting up your mouse, game and TV is just as important as properly setting up your XIM4.
- Follow the steps in the Hardware Setup section in the XIM4 User Manual.
- Make sure your mouse is configured for its maximum-DPI.
- Try your mouse at different polling rates (make sure to use one of the recommended polling rates for your console).
- Make sure your console's video mode matches your TV’s optimal resolution.
- Don’t use interlaced resolutions.
- Enable “Game-Mode” on your TV.
- Make sure your in-game sensitivity is set highest (such as “10-Insane” or "100%" for CoD and BF).
Restoring Factory DefaultsIn the event that you may need to restore your XIM4 back to its original default settings, connect your XIM4 via USB into your PC while simultaneously holding down the "P-button" on the back of your XIM4. Your XIM4 will start up in "Programming Mode" (its light will display blue). At this point, you can run the latest
XIM4 Firmware Tool and choose "Restore Factory Defaults".
