I am offering my services for free, I plan on recording and taking images of the process to make it well documented.

Only cost is shipping and sending me the 20 cherry mx reds you want...Labor cost will be $0.

I've been eying the Orbweaver for quite a while.. I could possibly order one and have it shipped to you with the reds?

Yes, you can have the orbweaver shipped to me then i'll ship to you (you'll pay for this expense).  The Reds you can order from me or from somewhere else and have shipped to me.  Feel free to PM me for information.

Yeah, reds are the official "gaming" mechanical key.  They require the least amount of for for actuation which makes your response time much much faster.

lol!  Yeah I have 226 Cherry Reds! Harvested like a boss.

I really just want to do the mod more to see if it is faster to only remove the LEDs or to remove the whole key.

The Orbweaver has 4 poles per switch plus 2 per LED...so 6 * 20 = 120 DeSolder joints...or just 40 if I only do the LEDs...But honestly I don't like that cheap solder plastic they used...and opening the red (to get the spring and switch) and the blue to remove the internals i think might take longer than using my desolder gun....

I'll film both methods....and take more pictures.

I think it's cool that this site gets hit by google searches for "Best console headphones" and all your tutorials! :)

Hey glenn, I don't disagree perhaps this is a thin line.

I'm not charging for my services but you are right this is technically an advertisement.  Although, it's a hard line to set...how do you let people post tutorials (obvious they do the work) and not call that an advertisement?

In any case, if any mod thinks this is over the line feel free to delete this topic.  I've had two people contact me, i'm just waiting for them to confirm shipment and then this deal is done anyways.

I was going to do this mod anyway but ABC offered it up for free so I bought some switches and he will have it in his hands today.  Thanks again ABC 123!

Now all my PC TF friends won't have to complain about my loud space bar when double jumping.***Cough Rook and Colb***

You have the dampeners, right? I remember reading you had spares...otherwise I have some and can put them on too...just asking because tuff with reds sounds like someone with a sledgehammer.
