It actually did this with the controller a few times long before I got the XIM or the wireless HS. I thought my controller was @#$%...

I got the XIM and it never did it until I got the wireless HS. Now it will not stop!! Is there a way to remove the HS from the 360?? I mean, Im not even using the thing and it still drifts!!

PS3 is so smooth its crazy!! Thats why I havent played on the 360 much lately.

I don't have a ps3, but I would like to own one. I played on my friends and ps3 is finally starting to gain some ground and get people on it and online. I'll get one at some point, for now I stick with my pwn rig and my xbox 360.

At this moment in time in this very second of this minute this is what I have.

Asus striker SLI mobo
q6600 that's clocked from 2.4 to 3.3 and some change

4 gig ddr2 800 clocked to 940 (XMS)

8800GT's in SLI (g 92 versions, 512 memory). These run at 775 mhz pretty good clock for running on 95% fan (sorta loud, but I crank the 6.1 system hehe).

raid 0 HD's  2 300GB seagates

1 half TB drive (for storage and the OS)

and powering it all is a 1.2KW powersupply, which currently loads out around 700ish Watts (I guess I didn't need 1200 watts lolly)

I have cod4. I just am pissed off at pc games, so many hackers. There is a registry mod that gives you instant 50 on there, and no tracking and stats are local to your machine so no server to validate stats, unlike xbox live.

I do enjoy playing it, but I spend alot of time trying to get CRYSIS to run smoothly (a battle that's been raging for a while now).

The ONLY game that ever slaps my rig around like a *beep* is Crysis. That game is just way to much for any rigs.

Thankfully, nvidia is coming out with the 9800 soon, so I'm hoping to see what kind of FPS people get.

On high I get 47 high FPS and low around the low 20's

On ultra high it's a joke 20's at highest and 17 at lowest fps. lol. Freaking SLI 8800's should not be doing that, but everyone's SLI rig performs that way its wierd.

Almost sounds like a problem with the coding in the game then eh?

If one has ever witnessed the game, it's just too far ahead of it's time. The environments on ULTRA high are photo realistic and take alot of power to run.

I did manage to get my 2.4 qx6600 up to 3.9ghz on water, been prime 95 stable for 2 days now. That gave me another 9 FPS, which was alot (also went up another 75mhz on gpu and another 45mhz on memory, and then increased the shaders to 110mhz which helped).

That game makes you forget about reality, it's great its obsessive.

I refuse to play through the rest of the game until I get at least 50 fps or more constant.

I have yet to try playing it, I don't like FPS games that are not a good Multiplayer game. So eh not my cup of tea I suppose. .  But i looks cool none the less. . .  Least I can say CS Source Looks good with my two new cards ha ha . . . My old Radeon look decent but wow what a difference a GT 8800 makes! Wowzers. . .

After taking a break from call of duty, about two weeks without playing it or using the wireless headset, when I came back and used my XIM again it was still pulling, but now its very very slight, and very playable. I've come to accept I'm not going to be able to talk @#$% on call of duty until XIM2 comes out, at which time I may exchange my xbox if there are still any pulling issues whatsoever. Just wanted to update this thread with something a little on topic instead of you guys discussing your @#$% rigs.

I don't have this pulling problem. The one time it looked down and spun around uncontrollably, I just reset xim and my xfps and was good to go.

My rig is not @#%@, although unless the industry changes I may leave pc gaming as it's just not what it used to be.

What are you talking about?

Edit: Lets try and stay on topic. This is a legitimate problem with the XIM.

Its an auto-correcting feature of COD4. Im not sure if its the game sending a calibration reset to the "controller" and the xfps doesnt know what to do with it. or if its the game recalibrating "center" based on movement patters. (this is what synaptics does with those little eraser head mice sticks in the center of some laptop keyboards. on those just leave it alone for a few minutes and it sees the mouse moving at a perfect constant rate, assumes its not human and makes it the new center).

I would assume its the game reacting to "inhuman" input and assuming a new "center" since my knowledge of the xfps that it man in the middles, which means it shouldn't break comms with the controller or filter comms unless its acting as a proxy.

To fix this issue just unplug the xfps from the xbox and re-plug it in between matches. If this is the xfps causeing the problem, then this issue will be fixed with xim 2. If its the game recalibrating "center", then it will happen with xim 2 as well. This would also prove a fairly easy mechanism for detecting "inhuman" inputs of the stick. I hope game devs don't start sending controller input stats to big brother over live... Might need to work on humanizing inputs from xim software... start by not letting the virtual sticks leave the circular bound of the controller.. I will get into this issue in another thread.

There may be an auto centering feature, but I'm not sure thats the problem, given that this has happened to numerous people only after using the wireless headset, and that it still exists even when using a normal controller... As I stated in an earlier post, I no longer have an unbearable pulling problem, where if I would look up then down two or three times I would have done a 360, though it still does pull a little bit.
