Is anyone else scared to death of what is happening in Ukraine? I really hope the US doesn't get involved...I feel this can only end poorly.

Also, if anyone feels this is inappropriate for this forum, just go ahead and delete it. Not trying to start anything negative here, just looking for discussion.

I wouldn't mind seeing another A-Bomb dropped at least we will have HD footage this time.

Hopefully it's in 1080p.

Yeah that's a pretty ignorant statement  lol

I'm glad Obama gave Putin a call yesterday, but involvement should end there.. unless the majority of countries are for helping Ukraine, so the US doesn't see a huge backlash. I'm all about freedom.. So if the majority of Ukrainians want to separate from the Russian Empire, let them! Honestly I wish Ukraine could just split into two entities, ideally on good terms, and everyone would be happy.

Yes I am glad too. Who knows what they talked about though. I am crossing my fingers the US doesn't get involved.

Theres no reason for US to get involved other than our stupid skewed sense of world justice. Let China spend money handling this one.

If Russia is so worried about Russian speakers Ukraine should send them into Putin's arms but if idiots want Russia to keep installing puppets who rob their coffers dry then @#$% 'em.

Tomorrow we could all be running to the grocery stores for food and water if a war breaks out between Russia and U.S.

Yeah, this is definitely one of those circumstances that feels like it can get exponentially worse quite easily. There's a giant powder keg in a room full of matches.

I also have a bunch of friends In Ukraine, so I really don't want to see them thrust into harm's way.

I read somewhere that Clinton and John Major both singed a treaty to help the Ukraine protect it's boarders in 1994.

Don't flame me, i have no idea if this is true or not, it's only what i read.
The article mentioned that it could very well drag us in war with Russia if they cross the Ukrainian border.
Which has already supposed to have happened unofficially...

Seriously i have no idea if any of that holds any water, but it has me a little on edge.

That treaty was to protect nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Russia and US agreed to let them stay in Ukraine. However the treaty was to defend Ukraine should they ever be invaded... so if Russia invades them, it's assumed that the US will have to defend Ukraine. However it can be argued that the new government forming could nullify the treaty..

in either case, the US needs to stay the @#$% out of ukraine. This has nothing to do with us. If we get involved due to a treaty stating we have to defend ukraine when RUSSIA invades them, when the treaty was between russia and US? man.. no words can describe my frustration. .

If it's any consolation, the troops stationed in Ukraine would get to spend time with some pretty Ukrainian ladies. But if they end up in Russian territory then they'll have to fight off ugly hags.

Yes. And not only do I want to not see any more civilian casualties, but haven't we suffered enough with this war in Afghanistan? Monetary wise we cannot afford another war either.

C'mon, Russian has some darn pretty ladies as well. My Dad speaks Russian, and when I was a kid we had Russians at the house all the time who were visiting. Some of the hottest women I have ever seen in my life!
