Progresive Triggers
« on: 08:25 AM - 02/25/14 »
Hi,

Since XIM4 is still in beta, and I was just wondering... Is it possible to have support for Squeezing trigger effect for games such as Hitman and those that require a slight press to shoot 1 bullet?

Thanks,
X

I'm no programmer but I'm not sure thats possible with a mouse. You're either pressing the button or your not.

Could do a modifier key.

Example if I hold down a button on my mouse while pushing left click then it will send 50% trigger. (like how walk was done on XIM2)

I don't think it's likely to get implemented, since walk was a much more requested feature
That "natural curve" you [roads] are talking about was me taking a wild guess what the game was doing (which was completely wrong of course).

Sure, I'll add it to the feature request list. Would it make sense to combine it with the existing walk modifier?

Yeah makes sense to me, would you would be able to use both at the same time if you did it that way?

Yes it would affect both at the same time  -- which may be a negative.

Bionic,

I haven't used the XIM4E but I can tell you how it was in XIM2.

You set a key as your walk modifier, and when you press that key, it will reduce your WASD (or whatever is bound to analog stick) movement to walk speed.

With the proposed addition, there would be a modifier key that did the same thing for the triggers.

that is what I dont get... I have it bound to "w" when I press "w" i walk forward, only when I hit the run button do I run...

I guess this is used in games where run is always on?

let just say it like this, and this is from olden days perspective if i'm remembering right:

* Run is full speed walk, 100% analog stick, just pushing W
* Walk is 50% analog stick (or whatever % it actually is)
* Sprint is when you push the in game sprint button, and push W

* I just push W, my guy runs
* I set my walk key to caps, when I push it and W I can do 50% walk. (don't know if walk modifier is toggle or hold)
* I set my sprint key to shift, push shift and W, my guys sprints

If I hold caps and shift and W I have no idea what would happen. I guess it depends on how the XIM interprets that and then if they game even allows you to sprint when you are only pushing analog stick halfway.
