Mouse advice
« on: 09:14 AM - 01/22/14 »
Hi everyone,

Really excited about XIM 4, as im sure we all are. I am new to the XIM community, and well, I am looking for some advice for purchasing the RIGHT mouse for XIM.

I currently use this for my PC.

http://www.ianker.com/product/98ANDS2368-BA

It'ss an Anker gaming mouse, perhaps a less well known brand, but has been really awesome for me and is priced very well. I was just wondering if this is a good choice for the XIM, and if I will be able to take advantage of its 8200 DPI and all of its buttons.

In other words, what should I look for and avoid when selecting a good mouse for the XIM?

Thanks guys, any help is greatly appreciated!

The real question is can you find a mouse that won't work?

I could be wrong but I believe the DPI of a mouse can greatly affect how the XIM functions.  Having a low DPI mouse could yield poor results?  Someone will have to confirm that for me.

I used a lefty Deathadder for my XIM3 without problem (3500 DPI) but I recetly started using a new razer mouse with a DPI of 8500.  we'll see which I end up favouring.

I have used logitech mx518(yup old school), then upgraded to g500.  I bought a g700s for the wireless capability but the batteries just made it feel to heavy for me.  It's all personal preference imho.

A good indicator if the Xim will run well with it is to check the current compatibility list. This link below is for the edge so it should be good if anything I only see them adding to the list.

Think to yourself "is this something an idiot would post?" ... If the answer to either of those questions is "yes" then you probably shouldn't post it

Yup, all personal preference. It's been posted elsewhere that the xim likes higher dpi. I have the mamba 2012 and G700s which are both 8200 dpi and like them both. High dpi isn't necessary but avoid really low dpi mice as they don't work as well.
