XIM4 USB 3.0 Native Support?
« on: 10:56 PM - 01/01/14 »
As the title asks, will the XIM4 natively support USB3.0 and essentially still be backward compatible with USB 2.0?

I did not get an answer from the Dec 24 video posted by OBsIV.

Of course only the XIM team can truly answer you, but I don't think there'd be any benefit of using USB 3.0 for this.  I don't think there's enough data being transferred to warrant USB 3.0.  That would also increase the cost, though perhaps only marginally.  Just my 2 cents.

Not worth it in my opinion since there isn't any latency for the controller over USB 2.0 so there isn't any benefit on USB 3.0

We match what all gaming mice, keyboards, and console controllers are: full speed (USB 1.1). We are capable of high speed (2.0) but don't use it. USB 2 is overkill for peripherals (so USB 3 would be *really* overkill).
