I tried a GameStop labeled 360 controller and it did not work. I do not know why nor do I understand why it wouldn't work....all I know is that it didn't. For all I know the controller could be broken but I don't think that's the case.
I used both my original wired controller and my xim2 modded controller and they both worked great.
OK ....Guess I'll get a genuine MS model.......Thanks
Lol, glad I decided to comb through every page of this topic. Was racking my brain trying to diagnose why I couldn't get player 1 to hold using some 3rd party 360 controller that I had picked up at Walmart, saw this post then tried a genuine Microsoft controller and it held just fine.
✔ First semi non-existant hurdle cleared.
Onward! MCPs and button wiring, I come for you next! ...when I get out of work
