Hello all! I'm going to be attempting this mod as soon as I get all the parts in. Is there a certain type of 8.2kohm resistor I need to get? I'm browsing through mouser to purchase the resistors and found ceramic composition resistors that have different power ratings to choose from such as 1w, 2w and 1/2w. Does it matter which one I get? Thanks!

Hi. It isnt that important which ones you get. But those you listed are really heavy for this one. Use 1/4W resistors. Even that is much more that is needed. I think the most common type is carbon film resistor.

Havent really thought about resistor types before. Why there has been this many questions about this? I always go to ebay, search "8,2k resistor 1/4W 100 pack", buy it, done. And you might only need 2 of those but still the pack is only something like 3€.

Do the digital version and you dont need them at all.

And to w11ce, I know it's been said plenty of times, but Thank you for compiling an awesome tutorial.. Especially for the ps4 users in need of a kb+m alternative while we wait for the xim4.

You can leave the MCPs and those resistors away and directly connect the triggers to the Teensy. You just have to unquote //use digital triggers in the firmware.

Roads, would you be able to take a picture of the digital triggers for me? I need a visual schematic to kind of understand things especially as far as wiring goes.

So I'm guessing that I wire the L2 and R2 points from the DS4 Pcb directly to the teensy rather than route it via an MCP4151? So that means I'll only be using 6 total 4151's?

What the @#$% ? Didnt i just answer here... ok...

The wire i used for those was 28 AWG. For digital triggers you just connect SS pin to DS4 pcb instead of MCP.
