Tut: USB -> DualShock 4 adapter mod (W11cE Device)

Resoldered my 4151s...got the multimeter out and checked continuity on all wires...still have player one on 360 controller...controller no longer recognized in joy.cpl

Yes I feel with you been there a couple of times. Check that the MCPs do not touch the pcb, there are nasty groundings under the 3V legs for example. Its mostly something terribly stupid you will find. Keep scanning. Its worth it.

Will my buttons malfunction if i do not solder "dud wires" to those solder points in between R1 and R2?

Which version are you building?  Working original buttons or not?  If not, doesn't matter.

Yeah thought of that exit even tried the shield and the Teensy turned around as it would be easier to drill but the cables are in a bad position. The cables in the picture above are where my little finger is when holding the controller. W11ce already found the best position for the parts imo.

The W11ce device is brilliant & simple to use, Plug & Play I can't feel any input lag when using the XIM EDGE on my PS4 even tho it's wireless 

I only had to make a small change to the PS3 ST for Ghost's. There's a tiny bit of twitchyness when doing small movement's which I managed to get rid off via the Ballistics

I started my build tonight, spent a couple of hours and just ran in to my first problem.

I've flashed the teensy, wired it to the usb shield, powered it up and plugged a 360 controller in and all is well.

I've gone on to the next stage of running 5v from the PS4 usb triangle and when I plug usb in to this I get the triangle led but no power to the teensy.

I've tried different wire and re soldered a couple of times, sadly I dont have a voltmeter on hand to test power is coming from the triangle. I scraped the solder area of the triangle to begin with as it was covered up with green pcb coating and went down to the copper.

I'm running ground from the teensy and shield to the location of the now removed motors.

Any advice? Reluctant to continue until I can get player one every step of the way.

Yes I know what you did. You must ONLY scratch the minuscule rectangular piece on the triangle. If the soldering touches the surounding triangular pcb you short.

ZOMG! Thank you w11ce (and everyone for submitting their tips!)! I did it on my first go around - granted i had a few setbacks with calibrating, but its all good now. woooooo!

Awesome is an understatement. I feel like this is the first time using my PS 4 since November. This was pretty much the first time that I've ever soldered /used an arduino board, im pretty happy with the result. Props to w11ce for the tutorial and everyone here giving out tips again.
