I would not touch a wire for 225$ the guy makes 50 Euro per device. Get it from him for this price by all means.

I was making them but stopped because of this.  I have better thing to do then to make a very little $$ making these

I profit enough to also make it fair for everyone. Not knockin you, I'm just saying it wouldn't be reasonable to sell something so expensive that is simple and basic to make from my end. With all the wires pre cut, box enclosures pre fitted and fabricated, mcp chips stacked, it will take me 1-2 hours tops to complete. I get all the pre work done by my lovely wife lol so by the time I get home from work, I start "overtime"

This is exactly why I recommend that everyone make these themselves.  I know the initial thought is that it's hard, but it's really not as long as you have basic soldering skills.  Everyone has all the support in the world on the forums.  I am a little jealous about your wife helping....my wife thought I was nuts.  Just curious, what's her cut?
Dinner and a movie :)

But in all seriousness, I too encourage people to try this mod themselves, but there's certain ones that don't have the time to.. This is where my free time, aka labor, comes into play. I'm probably going to stop making these devices after my next batch. I've made 12 so far, going on to 13 and 14 not including the ones that sent me their parts.

Ive turned to helping people make them themselves

I can understand where you're coming from in that regard.

I want it to be known I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase riggidy and the price was absolutely fair for the quality of work and the timely fashion in which it was delivered.

You're a stand up dude and do great work.

These devices, regardless of who makes them, require tedious work and time. The price of a WD is going to be a fair price considering time involved to make it and parts.

The bottom line is that they are worth what the demands for them dictates. Whatever someone is willing to pay is what they are going to sell for. I don't think any of the WD makers are trying to get rich here.

Exactly my perspective. I'm lending a helping hand to those that doesnt want to make it.. And for a very affordable price. For the record, there's no competition involved.

Well after reading sp0t619's post I guess it doesn't require tedious work or time lol.

Regardless of who buys one from whom, it's all good for everyone involved in the end.

There has not been a competiton, if there was W11ce would have kept the recipe for himself. We all want to get back to gaming, its time the XIM4 comes out. Gave too much gaming time to the mod making.
Crusade atm: none

It’s the wrong MCP take the 4151 and Teensy 3.1 instead of 3.0.

There's several listed:
http://www.mouser.com/_/?Keyword=mcp4151&FS=True

And is that the site to get it from?

Totally agree with you bro, but I'm sure the xim4 will be worth the wait.

Get this specific one: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Microchip-Technology/MCP4151-103E-P/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMu6TJb8E8Cjr6t7OIgpHaFl

You only need 6 of them.
This is the right one.

My wife asked me ..... "So what are you doing again?" On more than 1 occasion.
On the other hand, my 7 year old thought it was the coolest thing in the world.  Wires are cool to 7 year olds.
