I can't help you, but other than the sound issues, have you experienced any display issues? Does it create any kind of input lag or image distortion? I'm really looking into getting one, since I love my monitor and this thing fully supports hdmi.
Maybe I'll search and necro a thread...
dont get the hd pvr2
from all the standalone units out there that are 1080p HD ready, the hauppauge is the worst out of them
get the elgato instead, much better and costs the very same
@ topic creator
how are you recording?
It looks like the el gato is much less assuming, too. I'm very concerned about input lag, tho. Also, I wonder if the next rounds of consoles are going to both have this hdcp protection on both gaming and movies, rather than just ps3. I won't be happy if I buy this thing and it becomes useless when the 720 comes out.
1) all capture devices have input lag, some of them less, others have more
in any case its the very best idea to just put an hdmi splitter infront of it
one end goes to the capture card, the other end to the monitor
that way you have no lag
2) about hdcp
that shouldnt be your issue, there are lots of devices that remove hdcp for you
the better ones even have switches that let you have hdcp on or off
you connect a hdmi to dvi from the xbox to the dvi of the hdcp-stripper
toslink from xbox connected to hdcp-stripper
the stripper then mixes the video and audio to one again and outputs it as hdmi but without hdcp
the reason why this works is that dvi cannot transfer hdcp
here one from ligawo, maybe also available in the us
if not, cablesunlimited also sells an hdcp stripper on amazon.us i think
