"XIM3 keypad Asterisk" fault?

When going into the XIM3 to edit my buttons i now get "keypad Asterisk" in the space the keyboard button would be. Any changes i try to make don't hold and reverts back to XIM3 keypad Asterisk within an instant.

I have restored to factory defaults and re-set up my XIM3 on the PC fine but working on it live in the Xbox just won't wont play ball when trying to change my buttons?

Anyone else had this?

No i haven't. I can give some more info on this as i tried it out on the xbox then went straight to the PC again with to see what the buttons where doing.

What it had done is made two buttons "keypad Asterisk" which then made my B button show as RED and it saw it depressed all the time?

You aren't using any new hardware at all? It sounds like one of your peripherals is forcing an asterisk down all the time?

That would be a fair assumption but then why would it assign two different keys as keypad Asterisk by simply going into the change buttons and coming out without saving?
