Battlefield 3 settings that work great!
« on: 05:47 PM - 08/20/12 »
I have been playing Battlefield 3 for XBOX 360 with the XIM Edge.  Before playing I was at a .79 K/D and falling fast.  Now that I have been using the XIM I have ranked up from a level 3 to a level 37 in about two weeks and my K/D is a 2.02 and rising fast.  Typically I go about 50-5 in a game.
My settings are a little different then what I have seen people use though.  I wanted it to feel like plaing PC so if I move the mouse about half an inch the character will turn 180 degrees.
I never move the mouse more than 1 inch from the center of the mouse pad.  I dont like the idea of having to slide the mouse all the way across the pad to turn around.
With in game sensitivity turned to max I also raised my HIP to 90.0 and ADS to 80.0.  To me with these settings it feels just as if I am playing on a PC.
I know these settings seem high, but try it, they work great.
I do get red flashed from the XIM when I move to fast, but I never feel it in game.
So, for anyone playing Battlefield 3 on XBOX that thinks using the mouse is a little sluggish, try those settings.  You wont be dissapointed.

his mouse is different than yours, and his DPI is also different. his playstyle is also most likely different. i can guarantee you that if you use his settings of 90 hip and 80 ads using your 6400 dpi mouse, it will most likely be too jumpy for you. don't try to copy other people's settings, just work out what works best for you. read my reply to your thread.

I have a g400 and play battlefield 3 exclusively, and I can almost guarantee that he is leaving his mouse at the default dpi when he plays. When I raise my dpi to 3600, its completely unplayable (ungodly skippy feeling), but with default dpi (which I think is 800), it feels absolutely perfect. Plus my ADS and hip speeds are basically the same as the OP.

from reading a bunch os posts...may I conclude the following:
"You don't need to set max DPI for "optimal" Xim setup"?

Thanks guys, I am still trying to find a good setup for BF3...sometimes it is too slow, sometimes it's to fast, movements.

I play BF3 exclusively and use the G400 as well. In game the sensitivity is maxed.

I also have my hip at 90 so I can do a 360 degree turn by moving the mouse 4.5 inches.

I like my ADS a little slower and have that at 44.

Re the dpi of the mouse I believe I have mine maxed out at 3600. When I push the reset dpi to default (800) I really notice the turn speed bog down.

I'm not sure why that is called default as when I start everything up cold, it seems to stay at 3600dpi.

I have an older gaming mouse. It's a Logitech mx518. I believe its max dpi is like 1600. So my hip and ads should be fairly high correct?

For vehicles, since discovering the Inverted option, I can go back to using a controller for Tanks and Jets, but don't need to for driving cars just need a controller for being a Gunner! :P
