Good question. Well, I know that the microcontroller on the XIM is 2.0 compliant. AFAIK, it should work with 1.1. However, the data will be at 1.1 speeds, if it does work. In the case of the XIM that shouldn't be an issue, since the data that goes to the XIM is minimal. Bandwidth wouldn't matter either. I could be wrong about that though, I don't know much beyond general about USB ports. Worse comes to worse, go to Radio Shack or a computer parts store and pick up a USB 2.0 PCI card. If your old rig runs Winxp, then it should be up to date enough to run USB 2.0. So, no matter what, unless you don't have an available PCI slot on your machine, you won't have to buy a new PC.
