XIM1 config to use PC gamepads on PS3

Just wondering if its possible to configure to use a control pad for the PC on the ps3 through an XIM config?  I've tried searching since I have an XBOX360 controller for windows and I thought since I'm not gonna be using a mouse and keyboard setup for every game on the ps3 that I may aswell put the XIM to use with another controller to get an extra player on for games such as street fighter.  I saw a post about using xpadder but is there a way to create a config that incorporates controller input directly?  Most of the tuts I've seen are all to do with mouse configs and I'm sure someones brought this up in the past but I just cant find it.

A joystick/joystick configuration would help. Right now I have to go about remapping dual analog controllers through PPJoy so that the right thumbstick is the only joystick recognized by Windows, and then have to map the left thumbstick to directional keys through Pinnacle. This is with the XIM2 software and it may already be more or less possible to use a controller with the first XIM, it's just been so long since I last used my XIM1 that I can't remember any of the details about its software.

Thanks for the info.  A joystick configuration would help a lot but when I look at the drop down menu on my config I only get mouse&keyboard as an option.  Any ideas about how to get other peripherals to appear there?

It might not be available. I know the XIM2 software lets the player use a joystick for either the right or left stick, but not both, and was guessing that perhaps it was the same with the XIM1. The last time I used mine was over six months ago and I have a terrible memory. I can't even remember which XIM I used my X52 through when I played Ace Combat 6, or even what month that occurred in. A joystick/joystick option for either would simply be the solution.

You may have to go with XAE-ME for this, and not the original XIM program.

Dunno if that even works for PS3, nevermind.
