GTMAX Knock offs WORK, Read!

To anyone receiving a GTmax adapter from amazon (primarily bluemall and that other one i forget the name)
These adapters without the switch and xbox logo definitely do work, the problem with them is that you need a 5v ac charger for the xim for the adapter to work properly. I dont know why this is but odin said it could be the gtmax line in thats causing the power problems, either way it deff solved every problem i had, now my xim3 runs perfect with no lag at all (i play on a monitor on game mode). im still not sure if its the gtmax itself - maybe

it can also be eg your m60 soaking quite some power
or bad usb cables that have a high resistance

The most likely scenario is that the GTMax is just not able to provide the current necessary for the XIM3+peripherals, and in particular the one without the switch (which is probably an older model) simply can't provide it. I started another thread in here about the GTMax (with the switch) that stopped working after ~4 weeks of use; still waiting on amazon to ship my AC adapter to provide an update there but I think "for best/guaranteed results" order an AC adapter

I don't know if mine was the knockoff or not but it came in a gtmax bag (ripped of course), but it worked fine.  It DID NOT have the switch, and i don't need the power adapter.  All i had to do was make sure its plugged on the right ps3 usb port, not the left, for some reason...

i just guess your devices need more power than clippens

but as you said, you tried multiple mice and keyboards...
well it remains unknown for the first :)

Im going to get the 5V adapter anyways just to give it more juice.

i bought a ps3 charger but when i plug it in it doesnt make any difference. how can i verify that the charger is working?
