I tested my G700 with 500hz. No difference compared to 1000hz. Now playing again with 1000hz.

did a G700 run at 500 and 250 as well as 125 and the jitter was still there for me but I think it is a laser mouse thing to me as the G400 doesnt have it.

Could be im just to picky also never know

Game: MW3
Smart Advanced
42 main sensitivity, 40 ADS
5900 DPI
G500 Mouse

OBsIV, I changed my polling rates to what you were discussing and didn't notice any difference. One thing I did notice however is that once I changed that, using my controller is impossible. Like say I peg my left stick to the right, it'll turn right, then in a random direction and stop, sort of like a slideshow effect. It's almost as if the XIM3 is translating mouse movements as well as controller movements at the same time, even though the mouse is stationary. I even flipped the mouse upside down so it doesn't detect any movement and it still happens. So moving my polling rate down like that made my controller useless. When I changed it back up to 1000hz, it's fine again.

I use a generic $15 GameStop MadCatz controller.

Just thought I should mention this, if you were to suggest using lower polling rates. I know some people like to switch over to the controller from time to time for killstreaks and whatnot (I'm fine with using my mouse in everything)

I changed my G500 from 1000hz to 125hz the other day but didn't get a chance to try it out at the time.  I've since played two nights of MW3 and completely forgot I had changed it until I logged in and saw this thread again.  So obviously, I didn't notice a bit of difference.

I changed my G500 to 500hz from 125hz while I was in the middle of playing last night and it seemed to be a bit smoother but not a huge difference.

Try each of them and see which one you like best. I tried them all, settled on 500.

The reticle in-game feels smoother. It's subtle. Just wondered if anyone else had experimented with poll rate too.

Yes sir, there is a definite difference with a lower polling rate.  supposedly the Xbox runs at 125, so matching that rate would be best...

By difference I mean smoothness.  and a more precise reaction to mouse movement.
sorry but its time to leave.... goodbye all!

I read on here somewhere that 4500 dpi was the max native setting for the sensor in the g500, so I recently switched to that while increasing my sens on the xim to compensate, and I also dropped to 500hz. I used to get the jitter really bad, but now it's buttery smooth.
