Best Xbox gaming headset??

I'am thinking about buying myself a new headset and I was thinking, which headsets do you prefer,  which ones are the best in your opinion and why??

for me by far the best from the best

I have testet many many headsets..
(Sharkoon xtatic, Tritton ax 720, Tritton ax pro, turtle beach x41, beyerdynamic dt770 pro, Audio Technica AD700, Astro A40, Sennheiser HD595, Razer Chimaera, Sennheiser PC360 )

as Soundprocessor is DSS my prefer..
I have testet: DSS, Astro MixAmp and Yamaha RXV-371 5.1,    DSS has the best sound.

Based on only reviews that I have read, apparently the ultimate combo is the AKG-702 (or the slightly revamped AKG-Q701) combined with the Earforce DSS and a headphone emp (fiio E9).

2nd place (can't go wrong) would be the HD598

For sure, again based on tests/reviews, the DSS is better than the mixamp.

Rightnow, I just got done selling my X41 wireless headset, and the first thing I'm going to buy is a Earforce DSS.  For headphones I'm considering the JVC-HARX 700s as these are the best bang for the buck gaming headphones($35-$48).

tritton ax pro COD edition ( there are quite a few differences from the reg axpros compared to the COD edition ones)

A pair of skull candys  with a microsoft wired mic, totally. O yeah and don't forget to search first if you know what I mean.

I have tested the AKG against the HD598 and the sennheiser won. Gave back the AKG too expensive for the no bass at all. Nr1 is as Noobs said DSS+HD598.
Buy the steelseries mixer only if you enjoy a background hiss  and Trittons if lower sound quality is what you are looking for .

i advice you a ad700 + DSS or Mixamp
its the cheapest combination giving you the best sound for the money

this combo is better than any tritton, turtle beach or astros
if you want to mix chatsound volume get the mixamp over the dss

with an external mic you will be able to talk then

Yeah the ad700 is not bad but bad bad bad head fit and also feeble bass. You must like that.

i mean 70$ ad700 + 70$ DSS or 150$ Mixamp is not affordable for everyone

ofc a better headphone gives better audio but you easily end up with 300$ then

AD700 is something that has to be experienced.  Some find the size too big or loose.  Easily modified by putting a rubber band to connect the "wings".  It's more known for positional audio and that it does greatly.  The bass, is anemic.  Which can be good if you are all about footsteps as explosions are fatiguing and hide the details..

So you have to ask yourself.  Do you need it for positioning/competitive or immersion?

Agree, if you also want to watch a movie with it and in the same time enjoy it, dont get those cans. Of course Odin is right it’s the best for the small purse.

Im surprised noone makes like a mixamp or dss type solution with an in line eq. Thats what I would buy.
