New Xim3 user - USB extension cable

Hello,

I just received my XIM3 and of course I went to test it out straight away. The problem is that the XIM3 does not recognize any peripherals, it shows the xbox logo but that's it. I use an 10 meter USB extension cable as my main xbox is in an other room (nice and clean and no noise)
The XIM3 works because I tested it on my other xbox and there it is fine. Does anybody else have problems by using USB extension cables and is there a solution to this problem ? I see the xim has an power input, where is that used for ?

Had the same issue with printers and such, what you need is a USB active extension repeater cable instead of a extension cable.

Active cables are working now? It wasn't too long ago they weren't supported. Anyway the max length for a non active cable is about 15 ft.
