« on: 09:29 PM - 07/18/11 »
Alright well I dunno what to do.

I have an Xbox 360, the place where you connect the VGA is melted. Is their anyway you can replace it?

It doesn't have HDMI. I was looking at USB to VGA adapters though, don't think those will work huh?

Uhh what? It doesn't have a VGA connection. Sure you might be using a VGA xbox cable, but the plug on the console is it's own kind. How did it melt? Replacing that connector would be a major pita and would require some serious small soldering skills. Those pins are tiny! If you have the skills, it would be easier to solder a new VGA plug or a cable straight to the board rather than a new "xbox audio/video" connector. Most of the pinouts do nothing.

I'll try a new VGA plug.

It got melted by someone using a "heatgun" to fix it? I was wondering do you think a USB to VGA cable would work as well?

Does it work? Not outside of the pc world. What those are is essentially an external video card and they require drivers. So no, it won't work on a console. Post some pics of the damage I may be able to repair it.

Alright here they are I hope your amazing with a solder gun. If your interested, i'll seriously ship the board to you & a video cable. Unless you can repair the whole thing? which in that case i'll ship you two motherboards.

Unless you know how to fix the RROD? I tried heatgunning, and everything and I can't fix it. :P And i've fixed about 10RROD's and only 3 have been unrepairable.

Ethier way, I just ripped the whole plug off because it was completely melted.
