Mod: use M$ Wireless transmitter on Mixamp

i saw the post from "troysloth" in the thread -> "wanted to design a xbox360 headset"
than it has been "DING!!" ^^

How are you going to achieve the wireless communication for Xbox live?  Currently the only wireless option is the official M$ wireless headset.  Apparently M$ will not share their wireless specifications so aftermarket companies can make a wireless chat solution.  TB has a workaround for their PX5.  They are working on a bluetooth receiver which plugs into your xbox controller, but its not out yet.

Ok this mod is very easy 4 cables to connect thats all. I will search for a 2.5 connector cable tomorow dont have the keypad headset anymore. Sadly there still is the the background buzz when I listened to Trigger, but only of he talks. If he doesnt its dead silent.

Oh and you dont need the volume cord and the mute its all on the wireless headset.

you right, you don't need the mic on/off box.
you can mute it on the wireless.
i hope the buzz in the voice come from the big cables and the many solder points.
so i have moded it again.
i have desoldered all the old and the original cables from the pcb, than i have soldered all new cables direkt on the pcb. now it's no extension, no on / off box, no cold solderpoints.
i hope the buzz is now away
and by the way it looks much better than the first mod^^

We tried this with the Mixamp Cable, and Trigger said my voice was even slightly better than with the normal headset or modded headset on Mixamp. The noise suppressant of the Mixamp does great work.

One problem remain the wireless headsets gets bloody hot I guess about 50°C the hotglue starts to melt. Voltage seems to high coming directly from the USB port. Any means to halve it?

Got a 3V regulator instead

WIth the 3V regulator the headset turns off after 5 seconds like when the battery is drained. I will get a 3.5 or 3.7v limiter. I thinks its this battery:

So here is the version that is for sure working. The battery is staying in place and you have to charge the headset when not playing. You can not charge this p.o.s. while using it. Its really easy: open it, cut the wires to mic and speaker as far as possible from the headsets pcb and wire the mixamp headset cable to it. Quality is very very good, I would say even better as wired over the controller but only with the Mixamp cable that has the huge interference filter on it.

advantages:

- no robot voice
- no daamn cable from mixamp to controller
- Arcticpenguin soldering proof 4 solderings, thank you, good bye mod.

Just tell the people what diode you sent me for the USB cable so the device does not heat up. Works flawlessly now.
