g500 makes such a massive differnce

i picked up my g500 mouse today from the post office and i cant belive how much of a massive improvment it has made to playin on my xim. using my new mouse and the boost setting in the new firmware  i can now get the turning i have been looking for super quick spins with no aid from the movment keys. i would now give xim3 a very solid 9/10.

@#$%, im sending my mx518 back. Hate the shape of it. My fingers cant sit comfortably on the right hand side of it. Also didnt like the feel of the Mouse scroll button or mouse forward button.

would say the mouse wheel could do with being alot stiffer. i use middle button to reload, scroll up for melee attacks and scrol down to change gun. it slips a lot but im sure ill get used to it.

I think all the 5700DPI mice make a huge difference with the xim3.

I have all the heavy weights in my G500 and feel it's a beast.

Yeah that looks so nice. Seen it on your avatar, thats the kind of shape I like.

Its basically a 3.0 with a nice mx518 sensor tweaked to 2000dpi with the lowest lift off on any mouse. Its expensive for what it is but it works beautifully has the best feeling scroll wheel and is easily my favorite mouse out of

Simple and solid and light. But be warned currently it only works fully with the 202 firmware. anything above and you lose the scroll wheel up and down. (click still works) this should get sorted but worth thinking about. I love the mouse so much that I wouldnt change though even with this issue.

I'm still on the fence about the G500. I've been playing with a G5 for over 5 years and just picked up a G500 4 days ago.

Pros (for me):
More configurable buttons
Onboard memory
High Resolution and accuracy

Cons (for me):
Button throw length is longer than G5
Button bounce back is less springy (longer)
Bigger softer buttons
Mouse is much bigger than G5
Optical sensor is located near front instead of more central like G5

I'm giving it a chance for a month or so to see if I just need to get used to something different after 5 years. Right now I don't know...

I tried playing on it for a few days and couldn't get used to it. Hand would sweat (which rarely happens). I didn't feel confident playing with it, no idea why.

Bought a G9x, feels much better to me. Probably cause i am used to playing with the G9.

LOL people have different opinions dude. Its the way of the world. G500 has flaws that make it sub optimal for me but I recognize that others find it perfect.

Well then, count me in the minority.  I bought the G500 and disliked it immensely.  Went to the wireless G700, very pleased.
