I have configured my G500 in SetPoint:

Sensitivity Increase Set to: Keystroke Assignment = r
also tried
Sensitivity Increase Set to: Page Up

Sensitivity Decrease Set to: Keystroke Assignment = r
also tried
Sensitivity Decrease Set to: Page Down

When i Edit Config on the XIM3 and assign a button and click one of these buttons the mouse stops responding to the XIM3, Keyboard buttons still work but all mouse clicks stop working, I have to unplug and replug the mouse to get the XIM3 to get mouse response.  It also doesn't receive the click to set the button press.

You're peripherals cannot see each other when connected to xim. This is on the feature request list.

Set them as generic buttons in Set point and then burn to the mouse.  Then you can map to them.  They're Aux5 and Aux-something.  Handy buttons to use since they're right next to the primary mouse button.

XIM4 + Run and Gun = Fun.
