I'm having the same findings as Mist on this one.  I did most of my testing within Team Snipers, you either hit or you miss.  It is very easy to judge the aiming for me in that. 

With the original I am able to make fairly accurate snap movements, hitting most of my shots, and I average around 75% of my kills as headshots. 

With the RC1 I was really having trouble making quick movements to the target.  Not entirely sure why.  The movements feel good, smooth, not really much of a difference other than a bit of an increase in speed from the original beta ST.  Something just feels a little off too me.  I will give it another go and try to really place a finger on what it is.

Ok so I messed around with it more, and I do seem to hit the black dot much more often on the new beta, plus i can't get the same feel without acceleration on the beta. RC1 feels much better for some reason. I don't need accel at all. I will continue testing

You'll always hit the black dot if you overshoot. The nice thing about this new ST is that it should be more predicable as to when you hit it. And, it's "ok" to hit it as long as it doesn't feel slow.

Installed the old reach translator to do some proper comparison testing, and like mist said you pretty much can't tell the difference.  I play with a sens of 10 on both and it feels pretty much identical, but because rc1 is closer to 1:1 I get the feeling(imagine) that shots are bit more consistent. That's pretty much my opinion from my first impressions, and after playing while switching back and forth between beta and rc1 I'm sticking with it.

I don't understand how some of you guys are black dotting with 5 sensitivity, 5700 dpi. Maybe I'm just used to the way xim works, but I'm able to play at 10 sens and I rarely have black dot. Try not "flicking" so much, you can do a flick type shot if you just move your mouse slower, but with a higher sens. Maybe your flicking its instantly black dotting and not registering properly or something. Don't know if that made sense, but I'm trying to help, cause it just seems weird.

I don't have much to say about it other than in snipers I am doing much better with rc 1 while the old translator I had trouble. Havent played reach enough yet to tell the major differences. However, I have played better on RC1 by far, don't know why, just feels more precise. Thanks OBsiV for all your hard work.

Ok I set up a test grid in forge and after some testing both translators are very similar. The rc1 I noticed it was easier for diagonal movement, it just feels more natural for tracking the diagonal grid pattern. As far as 1:1 again both are very close in the test in forge, the rc1 is still a bit closer to true 1:1.

I also just for fun tested the sniper zoomed in to see if there was a different look mechanic. And other then just a drop in sensitivity, zoomed in had the same 1:1 as non zoomed.


As far as game play, played some swat and I really like the rc1, doing very quick snaps up to the head seems much easier, probably because the better diag movement. 

I need to do a lot more testing to really get used to the difference. One of the biggest problems I'm having is that I now am using the Nav controller while before I was using a keyboard for Reach. So I had to change my button layout, and old habits die hard! It's kind of embarrassing in the heat of battle rather then throw a grenade I use the sprint, rather then zoom I throw a grenade, etc. So it will take a bit of time to really get used to it. But the more I play the more I like it.

Excellent work, I didn't get to the extent of testing you did, but this is exactly what I found as well as most others. I would like to say that RC1 feels solid and hope that we can help troubleshoot any issues the other RC testers are having with RC1, whereas im glad to hear bigbobross is playing better with his too.

Sorry I haven't posted any feedback yet, but I've been real sick with the flu for awhile.
Anyway... I played some Reach with it and it feels better. There wasn't really anything wrong with the one before, but pretty much all of the tiny issues I had seem to be fixed.
Overall it's much more precise and it feels much closer to 1:1 than before

No, it's just a reference for you. If turning feels slow, then, check to make sure you aren't exceeding the maximum turn speed of the game (i.e. you see the black dot). If everything feels fine, then, disregard it.
