General Discussion / Moose sightings.
« on: 03:28 PM - 05/07/11 »
Anyone else notice how rare it is to see a (rt)moose in the wild lately?  Other than a game of zombies (in which I stunk up the joint) I have not had a moose sighting in weeks it seems...

Well it is May 3rd, and after having already downloaded (and obviously paid for) First Strike, I feel as though it was a waste.  The only good map was stadium, and since I really do not play zombies I didn't get any use from the new zombie map.  I also noted that a lot of the ximmers that I play with do not have first strike, and it stands to reason that even less will get escalation.  What say you guys?

See you all in five to six weeks... bleh.  Now I have to read a book or maybe do something productive with my time.

XIM 3 Discussions / I think I got order in...
« on: 11:37 AM - 02/14/11 »
When I ordered it was in stock.  Filled in all the information.  Checked out.  Screen got stuck on processing payment for 20 minutes, and in the meantime I got an email receipt.  My account does not show any orders placed though.  Did I order or not?  Thanks for the help :)

XIM 3 Discussions / Objective Comparisons: Xim2 vs. Xim3
« on: 07:33 AM - 02/08/11 »
Hey Guys,

This really goes out to anyone who owned a xim2 and now has a xim3 in their possession... how much of an upgrade is the xim3 from the xim2?  I realize their will be some subjectivity, but I was hoping for a true, objective take on a comparison.  I am very happy with my xim2, and have made some real nice configs for the few games that I play (I.E. COD games mostly).  Is the difference worth my $150.00?

Thanks :)

Ok, well after playing around a bit today I came up with the following config.  Seems ok.  This game's acceleration is the suck... *edit - it was, but they patched it!

DeadZone=9500
DeadZoneType=Circular
YXRatio=1.75
TranslationExponent=.275
SensitivityPrimary=4000
SensitivitySecondary=4500
SensitivityToggle=MouseRight
DiagonalDampen=0.1750
Smoothness=0.1

On a positive note, the cross battle adapter plus works flawlessly for me :)

Got this message today from XCM regarding the cross battle adapter and the disconnect issue.

"I got another response from the engineers today, it seems they used a chip in the device that is not 100% compatible with all ps3 consoles, they said about 20-30% of the consoles out there do not like the chip they used and they are working on getting a new chip that will work with all the consoles. Once again this is part of the process since they do not send out thousands of units for beta testing, they do in house beta testing which is limited to the equipment they have on hand. So in other words a new fixed version should be coming in about 3 weeks and if you have trouble with yours disconnecting then you'll need to wait until the new units arrive at the respective retailers and then send yours back to be replaced with the newer version which should not have this problem. So just enjoy it the best you can for now until the new units arrive and then the problem will be solved once and for all. It seems alot of people had disconnect issues because of the settings posted on the mainpage, so at least that helped solve a few peoples problems. But anyhow stay tuned for more info as it becomes available."

-Hope springs eternal... but this is a step in the right direction

Well I did something stupid tonight.  I was playing cod and in a moment of stupidity i looked at my ccu and thought, hey I must be able to put the palm pad out further...  well i did, all the way off.  It left 3 wires hanging out that got crossed accidentally and poof, there goes the ccu.  Now that is bad enough, but I noticed that my xim2 showed the analog left stick indicating input to the top and left, like if I was holding the stick of the ccu to the top and left.  I promptly removed the ccu and disconnected the xim2 and rebooted the comp.

When the comp rebooted, I ran my normal COD config, (no ccu plugged in) and it did the same thing.  Is this a default for the xim if no joystick is detected but it is "looking" for it?  I hope so.  I ran debugging software and everything checked out.  I ran stress test and it checked out too.   The xim2 works fine if I use the keyboard as my input for the left stick, but now I am afraid i damaged it for joystick input, and that would ruin my excuse to get a g13... not to mention really bum me out cause I loved having the analog stick.  Anyone know if I should be worried or not?

Playstation / XCM Cross Battle Adapter warning!
« on: 03:56 PM - 01/28/09 »
Hey Guys,
I want to let you know that the XCM cross battle adapter does work with the xim2, but there is one problem with the unit:  It constantly disconnects and requires you restarting the xim software and plugging the controller back in (as well as the usb cable to the pc).  I thought this was a problem between the the Cross Battle Adapter and the xim2, but it turns out that people with regular 360 controllers are experiencing the same thing.  I sent mine back and I am waiting for the replacement, but having heard that many other people have this issue, I am not confident.  I have yet to hear from the other members on the board who have the cross battle adapter and the xim2... hopefully they have no problems and it is indeed a rare defect.

I know there are a few of us who have the xim2 and the Cross Battle Adapter (XBA).

So far the list would seem to be:

Sikpup
Lejes
Doc_shock
Cameltoe

-Anyone else?  Has anyone else had the disconnect problem I had? - I sent mine back to extreme-mods.  They think my xba is defective.  Does anyone know if the output from a xim2 controller would be any different than from a normal wired controller?  I would think it is the same, but I don't know for sure.  If that is true, then it is most likely that my xba is defective. (I certainly hope so).  What little experience I did have with it was exactly the same as it was on my 360.  I even rented cod4 to make a good comparison.  Worked exactly the same.

XIM 2 Discussions / How to recalibrate a CCU
« on: 07:37 PM - 11/18/08 »
I was having an issue with my CCU analog stick moving to the right randomly and looked to fix it.  I went to Saitek's website and could find no info on how to calibrate it.  Needless to say, after calling lots of numbers, I did get an answer on how to do it:

Windows 95/98/ME/XP:
- Unplug the controller from the computer.
- Click Start, and Run.
- Type in regedit and click the OK button.
- Click on the plus sign next to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE"
- Click on the plus sign next to "SYSTEM"
- Click on the plus sign next to "CurrentControlSet"
- Click on the plus sign next to "Control"
- Click on the plus sign next to "MediaProperties"
- Click on the plus sign next to "PrivateProperties"
- Click on the plus sign next to "DirectInput"
- Look for keys starting with VID_06A3 and delete them.
- Make sure that key is highlighted and hit the Delete key on the keyboard. Choose Yes to confirm the delete.
- Close the registry editor by clicking on Registry at the top and then click Exit.
- Restart the computer.
- Plug the controller back in.
- Rotate and twist the stick fully or move the controller through all axes a couple of times.
- The controller will automatically write the calibration to the registry.  You are done!

Windows Vista:
- Unplug the controller from the computer.
- Click the Windows menu and Start Search.
- Type in regedit and press the Enter key on the keyboard.
- Click on the plus sign next to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER"

****I used this and it did fix my problem.  Hopefully this will help any of you that may have a similar problem.

XIM 2 Discussions / random movements to the right
« on: 08:12 AM - 11/09/08 »
I was playing COD4 the other day and started noticing that I would make random movements to the right every once in a while without doing anything at all.  I first noticed the issue when I was using xod's xemulate to test out rapid fire.  I thought it was just a problem with the xemulate software, but the problem persists even when using the xim software.  I use the CCU for movement.

any ideas as to why this is happening, and how I can fix it?

Dear Xim team;

I just wanted to thank you for making my life complete.  Long did I suffer, trying in vain to get more than 2 or 3 kills in a row.  I had all but given up on console fps games, and then my prayers were answered!

Gone are the days of 7-21 k/d ratios.  Once I dialed in my xim, I literally turned that right around.  Even got my first "How the hell do you aim that fast" comment!  It feels so good to call in a chopper.  I just love watching my little rotor-ed dealer of death lay waste to my competition.  Thank you for letting me enjoy my xbox360 :)

My @#$% hurts from sitting on it so much this past weekend.  Life is good.

XIM 2 Discussions / Using analog stick on CCU
« on: 10:28 AM - 10/25/08 »
Hey guys,
Got my xim360 yesterday!  YAY!!!  I am still dialing in the settings for COD4, but man did it feel good to use my mouse and kb!

1 question though; the CCU has the analog stick on it and I was wondering if it is possible to get that analog stick to work like the analog stick on the controller so that if I move it halfway i move at half speed and so on.  Is this possible?  Because if it isn't that means I can't sneak up on people?

XIM 2 Discussions / B Pad came off
« on: 06:02 AM - 09/27/08 »
Well I stuck with my friend who used to do small electronics for a living, and he informed me that the controller was complete with 1 minor problem:  When testing with the software it showed that whatever was connected to the B-pad failed.  He then used the desoldering bulb to redo the connection and the pad came off.

Is there a way to fix this, or did I just waste $60.00 and an $80.00 ticket to the last game at shea stadium on a broken silicon wafer?
