« on: 08:33 AM - 10/14/10 »No it's not the resolution, its the physical size of the display, I change down from a 32" panel down to a 24" one, when you sit close to the screen as you must to see the fine detail then if your screen is too big then you don't see the outer area of the screen.Well, with new techs like 2D/3D Vision Surround, Eyefinity, that is no longer necessarily true. If a game can properly support 5760x1080, for example, you get a lot more FOV than you normally could with 1080P, and hence better gaming performance. Plenty of games already support it.
It is of course personal choice but if your concern is optimising your gaming performance then bigger is not better.
BC2 and Nvidia 2D Surround:

A single 60" with 5300x2880 native res could easily be treated in the same way, of course the monitor would need to have two dual-link DVI inputs for it to work.
