For Expo players, try Linear Ramp with 50 Ease In... does it feel the same as the old Expo?

Also, Mist has stated that the look mechanic has been updated by Blizzard (for Expo at least) and that this will require a new ST update which he is currently looking into. So stop all the worrying and just wait for that new ST release  :P

I haven't played yet but in the original post Tim Ford (dev) says:

Quote
Aim Ease In is compatible with Exponential Ramp and Dual Zone

So I don't think it works with Linear Ramp.

You must have misread. Ease In is mainly designed for use with Linear Ramp... and Expo and Dual are also compatible.

"In an upcoming patch, we will add an option called Aim Ease In. This is a slider option from 0 to 100 that corresponds to an exponent from 1 to 5 respectively. Combined with Linear Ramp, this option will allow you to select a wide range of curves to map your aim input to your taste."

The look mechanic has been updated. Support will need to be redone. I'm looking into the benefits of of Linear Ramp with Aim Ease and weigh that against Exponential Ramp without Aim Ease. I'll share more information when I have it.

Sounds good to me  :)

found out in the new overwatch ptr under controller settings there is the new aim ease section wondering if anyone can try the xim with does setting and tell us the results

Doesn't seem to fix anything. Thanks Blizzard  :P

Is the curve value (using XIM4 on PC) much higher than Xbox One/PS4?

For example, Xbox One and PS4 are about 12 and 8 respectively. On PC, I found that I had to jack up a curve to about 21. Has it always been like this for Linear Ramp on PC?

Also, Aim Ease doesn't seem to fix the deadzone issue at all. Unless I did something wrong, this is another useless update by Blizzard.

the XBL avoid system is an average value of people you faced, if your repurtation level is really low just play a few rounds of eg BF4 or BF1 conquest 64 players
this will drastically improve your repurtation as you basically get 63 neutral ratings per game as no one bothers to report a player in a game with 64 people in it :)

but yes in general thats really bad, the OW community is among the most toxic communities ive ever seen, especially in the higher ranking regions
as soon as you pick a character that someone in your group thinks doesnt fit the team combo you can prepare yourself for a negative repurtation
and that doesnt even consider people just avoiding you for continuously killing them with a character they have no chance against or other stuff...

Do you have to play the full game or can you join servers and then leave, having that counted as playing with 63 other players?
join server get a kill leave repeat

Ah okay, thanks.

Haven't really been keeping up with the digital games scene but it seems you can get a 1 month sub for EA access for $4.99 and pretty much play any Battlefield game for free? That's pretty cool since I don't own any of the Battlefield games.

XIM 4 Discussions / Curves with decimal values.
« on: 10:05 PM - 08/18/17 »
Hi there,

I have noticed that curves won't save if you set the value of a curve point to anything other than a whole number or a 0.5 value. If you set it to let's say 11.6 and then restart XIM manager, the value will have defaulted back to 11.5.

If I set a curve to have .6 values, it generates the same exact curve code as a curve with .5 values.

Hopefully that makes sense, but is this behavior on purpose?

I can feel the difference in game between a curve that is .5 and .6 but the curve codes are exactly the same.

So I'm noticing just a bit of "floating" going on at the end of a turn, using curve method... Any change I can make to eliminate this?

What curve are you using?

And for any further questions about curves, I'd suggest posting what curve you are using because there are millions floating around at this point.

Does anyone have a good hitscan settings (mcree soldier etc) it seems to be super inconsistent on my own. For sure. Tried linear and didn't liked it. It feels weird and floaty. So if you guys have any expo settings I'll appreciate it.

What settings did you use for Linear Ramp?

Which curve?

Did you run the official Overwatch ST or Console Controller Crossover ST?

Tried the one on the linear fix ramp thread (first page) plus the one posted by hoodlum. Any advice.? It seems than for. Hitscan heros linear ramp is the way to go.

It shouldn't feel weird and floaty. Makes me think that something may have been wrong with the way you set it up? It can be confusing at first.

The one on the first page that you used, did it start at 8 or 12? You want to make sure you use the right one for your console (8 for PS4 and 12 for Xbox One).

Also, are you running just the regular firmware for XIM4? Some people run the experimental firmwares which can sometimes cause problems with Linear Ramp and curves.

Tested both these mice and they work great with the XIM 4  :)

Hey all,

So ive been away for a good 3 months now and im slowly getting used to play OW again. I was browsing the forum and saw a bunch of new options/settings implemented in OW that im not familiar with at all so i have a few questions,

They added aim smoothing and aim assist window. What is the recommended settings to use with the xim?
Im mostly a tracer/dva main. What should i use?
Aim Smoothing should always be 0, no matter what. Aim assist window is user preference, most have been opting for a lower value (0-25ish) so that aim assist doesn't interfere with your aim as much when aiming at a group of enemy players chunked together

There is also a new linear ramp. Does that improve the accuracy with the xim4? What are good settings to pair with this linear ramp? Is it better to stay with the exponential ramp?
Linear Ramp is pretty nice to use (and I prefer it over Expo ramp personally) but the official Overwatch ST does not support Linear Ramp. You have to use a different ST called Console Controller Crossover, see the Linear Ramp thread for more details on how to use Linear Ramp properly.

Are curves still relevant? As well as boost? I remember reading a topic saying that curves are no longer necessary?
Curves/boost are no longer necessary IMO. Curves/boost are used in conjunction with Linear Ramp as you will learn from reading that thread in order to overcome the broken deadzone of Linear Ramp.

Any recommendations on what settings to use as a DPS/dva main is gladly appreciated as well :)

Thank you.

Sweet, thanks for your answer that helps a lot!

One thing, what does ST stands for?

Smart Translator.... basically the list of games when you create a new configuration, those are all smart translators. With Linear Ramp, you want to use the one at the very top of the list called Console Controller Crossover since the Overwatch one does not support Linear Ramp.
