Is there a certain number you found with Smoothing for the Matrix?
To be honest, I don't know what each of these settings does in isolation, I file it under "secret herbs and spices".
What I do know is by adjusting each slider, there is magic to be found. This is true for both NEXUS and MATRIX. For example the default aim assist behaviour for MATRIX is quite subtle and much less obvious than APEX. That's great if you find AA intrusive and overpowering, but I want my AA to be as sticky as possible to make up for my poor aim and slow reaction time (I'm the wrong side of 50).
By adjusting the sliders in Smoothing, the interaction between the XIM Smart Translator and AA changes. I found strong AA settings within 5 or 10 minutes of adjusting the Smoothing sliders in the Custom settings and haven't looked back.
