General Discussion / Re: Titan Two vs Cronus Zen vs XIM
« on: 10:42 AM - 09/24/21 »
From my POV RE Titan 2: The forums aren't as helpful as here, but drumjoker/J2kbr is a really great dude and is right on top of any questions/help you need.

The thing i found frustrating is the language it works in, because it's a partial version of C++ you can't just use C++ code you find, and the way the library/guide is set up could use sort work..  I noticed that with the previous titan 1 language they'd adapted it to that universal function block code (i think it's called blockly),

I can also confirm that strikepack don't give a  CRAP about customer issues. The device is easily useable tho.

I think the end result you come to with all these devices, except xim, is they don't give you three advantage in shooters you initially think. Zero recoil is great, but when you play round with it you realise that most of your headshots are because of recoil, unless always lining up headshots at the start of a fight, and if you're doing that then you don't need a device to help at all anyway.
The only real advance consumer level computers have over your own brain is speed. When you think about everything that's in play when you've trained your muscle memory it's actually pretty incredible.

Apple expires TestFlights arbitrary with no good reason other than it's Apple. Now we have to rebuild, resubmit, and wait for Apple to grace us with their approval on an identical version of Manager that they already approved before.
Sounds about right for apple. Lol

Mine says expired (in ios testflight) is there a link to a current one?

When the hell did this Nexus arrive? first i've been hearing about it

See the dev blog update for all the news! :)

Just watching a youtube video, it looks awesome. And i noticed our didn't have ps5, is that likely to stay that way, cos it'll strongly impact my choice when i upgrade to next gen, i'm currently on ps4 but i'd jump ships

you've tried it antithesis? it's real that good is it? awesome

You can kind of try it on PS4 if you start writing a message and press R3 (or maybe L3).
It'll let you control the cursor with accelerometer/gyro.
Also keep in mind that it's not very optimised, it's been there since launch and it's just for messaging.
The difference in quality for gyro control is in the software not the hardware, I think the steam controller uses the same gyro hardware as the ds4, they've just put the work in to make it polished as hell, cos i've heard nothing but good things about steams controller and their new portable gaming tablet thingy

If you use the automated anti recoil you need to set it much lower than you may think. In apex legends for example you don't want to set it above 10%. This actually means that when you try it in the firing range the crosshairs WON'T move downwards when testing it with an empty gun (downward motion starts at about 13%).
However it will help with anti recoil.
This also stops the mouse movement interference.

Ask antithesis, he's a hardware guru. For my part i'll just say that 99% of the time when i've had issues it's a cable

Does lowering you in game controller sensitivity give you more aim assist? Been trying to tweak some things and wondering if this does.
Lower sens works better with AA but you shouldn't change it the game, use the xim to change it.

The difference feels like your bullets have effect the instant they hit the enemy on a good day, and then on a bad day they have to go right through them to work, and also their bullets seem to make yours almost vanish if they hit you..

I was reading something about the server not 'pushing any frames through' until it's done something (i cant remember) so you feel like being slowed down.
It makes me think of the bug in Fallout 76 people found where if they capped their framerate they could sprint around at something like 5x (or more) normal speed. I don't think this is the problem with apex but your fps & movement speed may be tied in this way maybe?

Solid advice.

I feel Apex Legends causes this 'compulsive  tweaking of settings'  the most. it's probably the game with the most config discussion around on here, and it has got to be the most inconsistent FPS i've played.

I'm not the only one who Notices the effect where some games you're running so much faster, and others you feel bogged down? i've never experienced it to the degree it happens in apex, and it's not just my connection I've talked about this with a tonne of players.

After I realized that, my game changed completely.  There are days when I play a match and nothing works.  On such days I go offline straight away.  I really hope it will change because I really like the game. You described it very well.

It'd be nice cos when it's running well it's a great game to play, but I don't think it'll change.

I don't know enough about netcode to diagnose what's causing it but it makes me think of a glitch that was found in fallout 76, where when players found there in-game movement speed was directly tied to their fps.. Setting/capping it whoever to get a value let them sprint around the servers ridiculously faster than everyone else.. maybe at something like thatů I don't know

It's also possible that you can't do it on console, there's a few rapid input tricks like fast circling to counter recoil that you just can't do on console (idk about next gen).

It was a zoom you're limited to the precision input consoles have

Was over spending 300Aud every 2 months because my scuff stopped working
Yeah scuff must be making a killing.. I remember someone said that that's the reason controllers are so expensive, because scuff have got a patent on something to do with them...

A mouse feels more natural and easy to use in first person shoots than aiming with analog sticks. That's why I prefer using a mouse, I just have more fun gaming with one.

Yeah, sticks have never been anything but broken for FPS really. Gyro has/had potential but game devs have never really embraced it which is a pity because it's also better than stick for anyone with accessibility issues (not perfectly tho obviously).
