I use an Astro A50 with no problems. However, the mute is technically on the headset not the adapter connected to the controller.

I use a Razer Death Adder Chroma. It will will work with the XIM out of the box, but I do not know what the current default DPI is. It used to be 1800 dpi. I do know it can be changed using the Razer PC software. This was not true with earlier versions of the Death Adder.

Or use the XB1 app. This is what I use.

I have also used the G13. It is a nice little gamepad. The only issue is the thumb stick. The one good thing about the thumb stick is it can operate in analog mode. This allows it to exactly mimic the left thumb stick on the controller.

The bad thing about the stick is the design sucks. According to an old forum post I rand across, a developer said they [Logitech] did not intend the G13 to be used for FPS games. The G13 was designed for RPGs like WOW. The thumb stick, even though it can be used in analog mode, was meant to be used like a D-pad. That is why it is designed the way it is, so it could be easily flicked in the direction you want.

I do not know why Logitech has not redesigned it yet. If you want to try the G13 key an eye out. Amazon and others will occasionally put it on sale for about $40 USD.

Another one, or two, to try is the Razer Orbweaver or its cheaper sibling the Tartarus. I have the Orbweaver and it is nice. You loose the analog thumb stick, but I do not miss it much. The only problem is I have had to re-glue the pad on the palm rest as it came undone. Some checking indicates this seems to be a common problem with the Orbweaver.

Look for a mechanical key keyboard. Look for one with Cherry Red switches. They are supposed to be quiet(er) and have a shorter activation distance. Check some of your local store and be sure to try one out (if possible) as you do not want to have to go through the trouble of returning it if you do not like it. Keep and eye on Amazon as they will occasionally have a sale.

Here is a link with some good info one the differences in switch types. It does not seem to cover the newer Razer green and orange switches though.

Could be you are hitting the maximum turn speed. The XBox/game will only allow you to turn so fast. The XIM tries to alert you of this by flashing red when you are hitting the maximum turn speed. With a mouse you can easily flood the XIM and therefore the XBox with movement requests. To correct for this try lowering the XIM sensitivity. You may also need to change your play style to move the mouse slower. IMHO, unlike PC games, the XBox/XIM combo does not really like twitch movement players (ie. I quickly move the mouse a fraction of an inch and in the game I do a 360.). It likes slower longer movements.

Note: I believe the above is true on PS4 as well.

XIM 4 Discussions / Re: ADS profiles
« on: 11:12 PM - 11/21/16 »
Most of the XIM game profiles that have ADS (ex. the Call of Duty games) already have an ADS profile defined and as Vort3x said the default key is the right mouse button. By default it is set so the ADS profile is selected when the right mouse is clicked and held. When you release the right mouse button it reverts to the the Hip profile. If you wish to change the default button from the right mouse to something else you can. You can also set up other profiles for things like vehicles. The reason for this is that the game itself does not always use the same settings for hip, ads, vehicles, etc. Therefore, you need to set up different XIM profiles to compensate.

I use the Corsair 400? pad. I would recommend a hard pad (plastic or aluminum). My reason is they are easier to clean and seem to last longer.

To answer your question: Maybe. For me it is a yes. Just like JuanDeage I grew up on the PC using a keyboard and mouse. When I bought my first XBox I did not know about the XIM. So I was playing Halo and Halo 2 with a controller. When a friend told be about the XIM (the XIM 2 at the time) I bought one. To me it was like night and day. An example is the Halo sniper rifle. I have never figured it out, there is just something about it that vexes me. However, with a controller I was about a 3 on a scale of 10 with it. With a mouse and keyboard I'm about a 6 or 7 on a scale of 10. A big advantage for me is I no longer had to remove my thumb from the aiming stick to hit for example jump. This altered my play style as I could do things you normally can't do: ex. jump, aim, and fire. I also use an Orbweaver and have movement mapped to the thumb pad. These allows me to use all my fingers (at least on that hand) for other things (ex. weapon reloads and changes). Add in a mouse with buttons all over it and you can do a lot of things that a normal controller can't. I also find I can fire faster with a mouse click then the normal controller trigger. I think this has to do with the short travel distance of the mouse button. This can be real useful on single fire guns, especially if the game developer did not rate limit the fire rate.

Did you remember to set the in game sensitivity to max? Also, try a few of the ballistic  curves see if they make any difference.

Thanks. The updated manager seems to have fixed the issue.

I have both a Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 tablet. I just updated each one to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Prior to the update both tablets were running Android 4.4.4 KitKat and the XIM4 Manager was working fine. After the update when I start the XIM4 Manager it starts and immediately freezes with a white screen.

Any ideas?

I'm on TimeWarner and just got bumped to 100/5, normal pings between 10-30ms. But as others have said, min 2 to 3 Mb down and 1 up. For example: with Destiny on the XBone, according to the bandwidth monitor on my router, for PvP, I see usage around 500Kb up/down. Also, ping time is important. Anything over 100ms, find a different provider as your experience is going to suck. In my experience, pings between 30-50ms are the maximum you want. Anything less than 30ms consider yourself lucky.

For slow movement, be sure to change the in game sensitivity to max. Then use the XIM sensitivity.
