XIM APEX Discussions / Strongest Aim Assist with Fortnite
« on: 07:50 AM - 07/24/20 »
ok i know t there are topics like this that talks about DPI changes and what not but after all that I'm still struggling on finding the best AIM assist with it.

What I did seem to find but not perfect is playing around with the Smoothing and SAB.

I noticed having a high smoothing like 15 locked on quicker than lower Smoothing when i had it around 5-8

Also with SAB I currently have it at 115. I am still playing with this but I'm not sure if I should go higher or lower to get the most stickiness possible.

Can someone help?

Ok im assuming we are out of luck? I know they're may not be an ST created in the future but any ST suggestions to be able to use the XIM?

The Minecraft support available now is for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions, not Minecraft bedrock. Bedrock came later than the supported versions. Bedrock hasn't been supported so far because of a poor look mechanic, lack of demand, and higher priority tasks. It also has native mouse and keyboard support which might feel better than a ST for this one.

Ok that's fine. I guess if my XIM apex is attached to my Xbox. In order to play with my mouse and G13, I have to detach everything to attach a keyboard and mouse so I can use the native K/M support?  Of course or I can simply use a controller?

In either case, is there any easier way? Perhaps a generic ST that I can switch to just so I don't have to disconnect everything?

Ok so I'm trying to play minecraft again. I download the ST for Minecraft and for some odd reason when I move my mouse left to right or up and down in a straight line. The actual movement actual is like a wave. In other words it doesn't move in a straight line. Anyone know what is going on?

For starters. What us everyone using.

Any SAB?

I can't seem to pinpoint what I should be using.

I am also patiently waiting. The APEX ST seems to do well. Not perfect but I guess that will come with the new ST. I think. But I'm getting used to the APEX ST for the moment that has been suggested in multiple threads on this forum.

On another note. I'm not sure but using a mouse and keyboard via XIM people talk about the aim assist bubble. I like a strong aim assist as I want to make sure I'm "locked" on. Will that be determined by the new aim assist setting in MW or will that be through the ST/XIM that will determine that?

I'll be a layman here. Already I'm confused with the XIM settings in itself and here we now have to contend with the in-game complex settings and try to make it work with what XIM has to offer so for me I'm up for taking what is spoon fed to me here on these forums.

Realistically I tried playing around with it but honestly I don't really understand.  Does it feel better or worse? I think so...but I am really not tuned to really see if it works or not. Obviously if it is crappy and i cant move around that's obvious but at the end of the day I need to really have this spoonfed and just tell me what is the best setting and tweak from there.

Sigh. Sorry :)

Ok, hold up. Here is something weird. So before I started this process, I did stick the XIM Apex into the USB before launching the tool. (That's when I got all the hang up).

When I was about to give up and wait for your assessment and response. I took the XIM Apex out of my laptop and I was like let me see if I can launch the tool now. Well, all and behold, the tool launched.

I immediately plugged the XIM Apex back in (with blue light) and backed up and updated the firmware.

I don't know what is going on but now the tool seems to be working fine.

Honestly, I think I had run into the same issue with some of the other firmware. I think whenever I plug in the XIM Apex first and then launch the tool, I would get a hang up. It seems like this is for first time launching a new version of the tool.

Let me know if you find out what is going on with this mystery.

Well for what it's worth, I can't seem to be able to run the tool as it just hangs up my PC.

All other beta versions that I have saved all works immediately. This version seems to give me a spinning circle and i have to restart my Windows Explorer.

Really? It's strange since I tested it. I'll check it out.

Yes sir, did it several times, and even restarted my laptop.

All version starting from 20190320 all the way to 20190702 works fine but 20190719 hangs up.

Let me know, I already installed the 64bit version for Android and that didn't have any issues. Of course, I can't fully test till I can get the same version on my XIM Apex.

Ok now I'm confused. I have Polling rate on the XIM at 500hz and my Logitech G502 at 1000hz.

If I want the strongest aim assist on Fortnite. Should I be going with 1000hz polling on the XIM as well??  In other words 1000hz mouse and 1000hz on XIM.

EPIC split aiming behavior between STW and all the other modes (like BR). This update matches this split and also aiming behavior changes they implemented.

Interesting. Thanks for the quick update. I love XIM and the support you guys give. Keep up the good work. Now going to see where epic posted this. I'm curious.

So where is the change log as to what this new config did?

Aside from the sensitivity increase? What else or the reasoning behind the changes?

Sp SAB at 200 going to help or not. Overkill? Or it should be a certain number.

Yes, let me state this: I'm not trying to force my finding.

We have to many options on XIM an how interacts with AA is unknown territory because XIM Team doesn't support this use.

When I try to replicate XIM4 SA3 on APEX, with my tools, I took the time to find out how SAB did for stronger AA, and is none compared to true analog or decreasing your DPI.

SAB, it is a great feature don't get me wrong but for stronger AA you will do better decreasing your DPI to the 2000 - 3200 range.

My dpi is currently 1000hz and my xim at 500hz.

Let me rephrase the question. If you wanted to simulate the same AA as with the controller. Almost one to one. What settings would you put it at. I know there are personal preferences but I'd like to start of with controller like feeling and then adjust from there.
